My head was kind of spinning, my feet surely were not steadfast to the ground, and I am sitting here recovering from breast surgery. Three kids in a home, my husband and myself now all took on the “getting Mom back to Mom” but it surely is not an easy task. Of course my thoughts were all about 4 Tips On How To Create A Fun Family Weekend. I planned it out ahead of time so I was sure that no matter how many aching complaints I might share, or how many times I might say I was not feeling well, the balance would be made by some fun times together. Our weekend of family fun consisted of great tastes, nutrients, games, a fort building kit for the kids and of course a few hours to myself when the kids were treated to a movie at the theater. Here’s my story of 4 Tips On How To Create A Fun Family Weekend and lavishly live life out loud.
4 Tips On How To Create A Fun Family Weekend
Our weekend this weekend is the first of many at-home weekends to begin. I had to have breast surgery and while that story will follow, the rest-up period and the limitations are immense. I had been provided with a list of can and can not and had been coached by my girlfriends that all have had breast surgery as well and now it was going to be all about family time, healing and momma’s car not driving anywhere. With plenty of downtime as the order and just pj time, I made sure we had fun stocked up in the house. Our only requirement of our family was that when we were playing games or being together no phone time would happen! No posting, texting, snap-chatting, nothing, just a ‘be here now’ kind of thing and for the bit of time we had this happen it was like gold being poured by a ladle and quite priceless. Here’s my set of tips and trick’s that helped us create a weekend adventure of fun for the whole family with Babybel Cheese.
#1 Let Them Build
My oldest is still not too old to build a fort because even though she won’t get in and hang there, she will still help build the structure. Boys will be boys, no matter the age, and rather than building forts with blankets connected by chairs the kids used this great Fort Building kit to design a fort to take shelter in. Well, it seemed kind of like a fort for Bella The Cat who lets no structure in our house go unclaimed and of course she was not giving in to the kids so she took up ownership before they could and that is enough said.
#2 Movie Night At The Theater
Just returning home from surgery my daughter took her siblings to a movie while my husband cared for me, as I needed bandages changed, a light meal, and a bit of time to deal with headaches and nausea. Quiet is a good thing so while a weekend adventure is fun for the whole family, the adventure did not have to all be together every second, because a few good minutes to self was quite necessary. The kids enjoyed a movie, popcorn and soda and came home ready to have more fun times.
#3 Get Your Games On
I am all about the games and we got to play big and have fun. We played this for a while and of course in the natural world of growing children the hunger famine became announced and it was time to get our game on with simple snacks.
#4 Do The Peel And Snack Thing
For the final snack attack surprise, we offered the kids something that they could each unwrap, and enjoy rich and creamy tastes, while providing protein and calcium which kids need in their diets as they are growing. Babybel offers that fun little red-wax-wrapped packaging that kids love to unwrap (and so do adults) because it is like your own little present every time you open one. Babybel let’s everyone keep their own individual tastes via many flavors and it is 100% NATURAL cheese. We had several flavors to snack on and there are so many flavors you can choose from: Original, Light, Mozzarella Style, Sharp Original White Cheddar Variety, Gouda and Cheddar Variety. I threw a few corn chips on the plate, some of our favorite bite-size tomatoes and well it was instant YUM!
Those are my 4 Tips On How To Create A Fun Family Weekend and lavishly live life out loud. A weekend adventure for the whole family is easily planned, just make sure to keep it filled with variety, some individual space and some fun games. Bond, unwrap, and be original having a fun weekend adventure. This was just what I needed as I healed after surgery.
