Today’s life is all about staying organized, being digital and moving at a pace that we all can hardly keep up with. Communication is constant as we have our devices in our hands all day long and our families stay pulled together through texting, emails and social apps.
The other main hub in our lives is our kitchen and in our kitchen our most used kitchen appliance, hands down is our refrigerator. In fact, if you think about your lifestyle, you may come to realize how many times a day you are in and out of the refrigerator and how it is your most sourced appliance too.
Your refrigerator is your family hub and you need this family hub to really meet all of your daily needs. Today’s story is about Adventure. Eat. DIY. Repeat. and the 6characteristics of a family friendly refrigerator, so you too, can seek out the best of the best.
THE SAMSUNG FAMILY HUB 2.0
I do want to let you know as always, I will tell you my true opinion and share my images with you because I believe this product to be the best of the best. Please note that I have been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free, however that does not change my views and opinions.
When you are a family, organization, communication and food are all elements of this life! For years we have lived with magnets, pinned up calendars, pens stuck in magnetized bins and clutter that foregoes the imagination all on the side and front of the refrigerator. While the papers and magnets are great for hiding little fingerprints they are not so great for keeping things organized.
In case you have not seen the Samsung Family Hub 2.0 allow me to introduce my new favorite kitchen appliance. This is the Family Hub that pulls our lives altogether and there is no clutter, there are special ‘grab n’ go’ drawers and the ability to see inside without ever opening the refrigerator and that is the short list of why I LOVE the Samsung Family Hub 2.0.
UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL
Here is my pride and joy and I want to share our Family Hub with you, take a quick look at the video for an overview of the product.
6 Characteristics Of A Family Friendly Refrigerator
As a larger family, it is imperative for us to keep life organized and to have a refrigerator that allows the kids to grab and go without grabbing and taking all the cooling temperatures along with them. Additionally, a healthy lifestyle includes plenty of water and far less sugary products and cool water is a must.
Basic refrigerators don’t work for our lifestyle, as our teens are constantly in self-feed mode and the doors on the refrigerator open and shut on a fairly consistent basis before school, after school, and for dinner too. Opening and closing the main refrigerated unit certainly takes away from a consistent food temperature and it uses more electricity to cool down.
Magnets are great, so are papers and pens, but when they clutter your fridge, it never looks organized. Memos to each other, over-marked calendars, papers that get lost in the shuffle all don’t lend to an organized asset so your refrigerator may be more of a nightmare of paper lodging than organized.
FAMILY HUB
1. FOOD MANAGEMENT
Gone are the days that you get to the grocery store and wonder if you had an extra gallon of milk in the refrigerator. Why? The Family Hub allows you to see on the inside of the refrigerator. Load the Family Hub app to your phone, and you can see inside of your refrigerator from anywhere that you are because there are 3 built-in cameras! Here was my refrigerator when I initially set this all up. Bare and in need of food.
FILLED FRIDGE
Here’s a peek at how much you can really put in there, with the shelves configured.
In addition to being able to see in you can create your shopping list and it can be app-driven from your phone or you can create it right on the fridge and it will sync with the app, so you always have it with you. Need to know when things expire so there is no more wasted food? You will love that you can set expiration dates of food!
2. Calendars & Organization
Gone are all those papers and stubs and appointment slips that used to hang on my refrigerator and CLUTTER it to death. The Family connection on the refrigerator is on the front screen. I chose the calendar app I wanted and assigned each person a little favicon (different colors). Each person adds to their calendar and it shows up on ONE calendar. I know when each child needs to be where because they add their items for me.
It is a bit freeing because everyone is responsible for their own calendar and scheduling out my time to help them get to their commitments and appointments. We all see each other’s schedule, but what we don’t see are papers and magnets! It takes seconds to set up and the result is FAMILY organization.
3. PHOTOS & MEMOS
We all take a ton of photos on our phones, but they always end up staying there. Sharing is why we take photos and the Family Hub 2.0 easily allows you to take photos from your phone and publish them to your screen on the refrigerator. As I am cooking I watch the slideshow, did I mention you can turn those chosen photos into a slide show? Displaying photos is perfect and we interchange them easily by touching the images we want to appear. My kids keep it interesting and I never see the same photos twice!
I heart the memo widget on the refrigerator and I think my daughter does too. Each day there is a new note on the refrigerator, whether it is reminding someone to feed the cat, or just saying I love you, there is always something there but not the paper clutter!
4. MUSIC & TELEVISION & INTERNET
The ability to stream music, videos and watch our Samsung TV directly on the Family Hub is perfect. Who needs to purchase a television and install it in a place that is too hard to get to? Rather, the refrigerator adapts into a full entertainment system so you never have to miss your shows or those playoff games we all live for, just because you are preparing food!
I also love that I can stream music and use Bluetooth to pair it with my speakers that I have around the house, that is pretty cool and perfect for entertaining and cooking.
5. THE FlexZone DRAWER
My kids never stop eating, they are teens and food is life. I love that the FlexZone drawer is not inside the main refrigerator doors, rather it is its own drawer! I stock this drawer up with cheese sticks, cheese chunks, yogurts, lunchmeats, anything the kids can grab fast and then go. The best part is that the compartment can be personalized to the size I need and changeup over and over to hold all different sizes of foods.
6. WATER
Our largest struggle with kids is getting them to drink more water, and with the Family Hub 2.0 there is no good excuse to not consume plenty of water. The outside of the refrigerator offers a touch water dispenser, ice cubes, and crushed ice. While the inside of the refrigerator offers a water tank that auto fills and senses exactly how much water needs to go into the pitcher. The beauty of the pitcher is that it does not take up precious shelf space, rather it locks into the door itself.
Additionally, we can create delicious infused waters or cold brewed tea and it always refills so no one has to say, “you forgot to fill the water pitcher back up.” Did I mention that you don’t need to buy a filtered water pitcher because the water is already being filtered with the water filter that you change every 6 months?
Hardly do these features sum up the ability of this refrigerator because there is so much more, and you can learn more here.
Did I mention that there is a thing called Samsung Voice by “Bixby” offering integrated Voice Activated Features? You can talk to your fridge from anywhere in your kitchen by asking “Bixby” questions like “Bixby, what is the weather forecast?”, “Bixby, play Pandora” or “Bixby, show me what’s inside”! Learn more in store at your local Best Buy and I am sure you will have one of these in your kitchen soon! Lavishly live food out loud and grab the best of the best!
