Making a very conscious decision to set out into Providence to find the best cocktails was just such an awesome idea! I mean, getting to taste test libations from local bars lets you really experience the flavor or the city. It’s an experience, it’s a destination, it’s something fun to do and honestly the choices are un-ending!
From simply syrups, to cinnamon sugar-rimmed glasses, I know where to find the most awesome beverages all over the city. One thing you won’t find a shortage of are grand-tastic libations and you are sure to have the munchies set in as well, I got your covered no worries.
Providence is walkable, and a very fun community with plenty of options for those of you who like to have a party-like weekend. Ditch the vehicle at a local garage, grab a lovely boutique hotel room, and get out there and party like it’s 1999 because there’s fun around every corner in Providence. The Rosendale
You can’t just pass this bar up, because you can find it from two different street sides: up the street or on the corner! Stop at 55 Union Street, in Providence and lead your lips to loaded libations! The Rosendale is a whiskey inspired bar with over 60 different types of whiskys. Each drink is hand-crafted, and interesting. Don’t be boring and order beer, try the drinks, I did!
This One Makes You Lit!
As a self-proclaimed Margarita Queen, I found something new to love, and it put a little bite back into my drink. The margarita on this menu is different and edgy, and called the Maestro Picante. What’s in this bad-ass, over-the-top margarita? Dobel infused with Jalapenos, muddled blackberries, agave nectar and fresh lemon juice and of course to round it out, the black salt.
The drink presents as good as it tastes. Don’t worry about it burning going down, it’s like a quick sensation throughout the mouth and then it just dissipates, and you will want more!
Drinks Your Dessert
Who loves bananas? Well get infused and it’s bottoms up with The Rosendale Dessert. A delicious cinnamon sugared rim, decked out with a sliced banana.
Move on down the streets a bit more, and it’s time to get a little floral with the beverages, and visit what I believe reminds me of Miami. Circe Restaurant & Baris another trending Bar & Food destination.
Get Floral
You are in the middle of Providence and you would love to be in Hawaii and I have the solution: Hand-crafted Hibiscus Martini. Open up and let the Vodka, Eldeflower liquor, fresh lemon, grapefruit and simply syrup dance throughout your mouth while sipping delicately on this awesome cocktail. The truest show is in the pour, as you can see I captured the grand pour.
Also, ladies, while he was not too cooperative, I know where you can find a little bar ‘eye candy’ who looks a whole lot like Julian McMahon (Nip Tuck)- sorry, he was not feeling it that night, but here’s what I have for you! I gave you at least a glimpse go seek him out yourselves, and treat yourselves to some great drinks by some fabulous servers! Ha and I was not even there looking…
Get To The Rooftop
Next stop: Rooftop at the Providence G which is all in the same area I have been walking around in this whole time. You truly will be able to just stop and drink and eat and drink some more if you walk Providence.
I am totally into Barry Manilow so being a fanilow of Manilow, this drink totally sparked my interest. Berry Manilow. What’s in a Berry Manilow? Bulleit Bourbon, Agave Nectar, Muddied Blackberries, Ginger Beer and Fresh Lime. Get ready to become a fanilow of The Berry Manilow! The Rooftop at the Providence G is all about the view, the fire and the awesome food, but read my other articles on dining in Providence for this scoop. Right now, it’s time to say, “Bottoms UP!”
Cheers From Providence
Last stop, it’s a morning Mimosa, and you can enjoy one with Captain Tom on the fabulous Providence River Boat Company Cruise. Perhaps one of the highlights of my trip was not worrying about what time of day it was, rather just drinking and eating whenever I felt like it, because it was a party in Providence!
Champagne Sangria
While you won’t find this on the street, you will find the drink available at The Alley Cat, and make sure that Michael Slade makes your Champagne Sangria for you, because he does it with love.. Wait you don’t believe me? He says it himself!
No matter what street, lane, drive, road, or alley you turn down, you are going to have an absolutely fantastic time. Lavishly live the best cocktails in Providence out loud and try them all! Cheers.
I experienced the Best Of Providence as a member of the media. While the trip was hosted by Go Providence my stories, opinions and images are my way of communicating honestly how I feel about a destination.
