Outdoor sports and time on the water really kick up the appetite. We spent a fabulous day in Marco Island on the water and learning the area and our trip lead us to an incredible pizza and pasta that I have to share because it was outstanding.
Part of my visit to any area is always about the food after all travel and food just go together. What you won’t have to worry about in Marco Island is finding a restaurant but you should be concerned if you are eating the best of the best. I seek out homemade foods with traditional family recipes that make authentic eats incredible and I found it at Joey’s Pizza and Pasta in Marco Island.
Craving Cannoli’s, pasta, charcuterie trays, garlic knots and pizza this is the stop or phone call you need to make! Allergen friendly (just talk to the food manager), Delivery, Take-Out or dining get ready for the best of the best in pizza and pasta on Marco Island and lavishly live food and vacation out loud!
Best Pizza and Pasta on Marco Island
My personal thanks to Joe of Joey’s Pizza and Pasta for providing a delicious tasting session and for taking time out of his incredibly busy day to chat with me, so I could better understand how he has created this incredible venue for all those visiting! Images, content, and thoughts are my own based on our experience.
Set your GPS to Joeys Pizza and Pasta at 257 N Collier Blvd, Marco Island, FL 34145 and come hungry. You will find the best in Italian eat here from starters to meals. There is no such thing as a small portion and Joey’s understands hunger and greets it with generous portions and delicious tastes.
Meet Joe of Joeys Pizza and Pasta
Joe is hands down the coolest business owners I have met in a long time – not only does he know his business inside out he boasts worlds about his wife (Doreen from Doreen’s Cup of Joe) and families involved and just gets that food has to be the BEST to have people come back.
Joe brings his Italian cold cuts right from Chicago because better matters and everyone keeps coming back 19 years worth of coming back and I’ll tell you why – it’s awesome and authentic!
ALLERGEN FRIENDLY NOTE
My son, as you all know has severe food allergies and he was able to dine here, latex free, seafood free, nut free and while there was honey on the table, please note, it never was near him nor ingested, so he was safe from ALL allergens that plague him and all we did was speak with management!
It’s wonderful and a place on our Destination MUST list when in Marco Island. (allergens vary from person to person so inquire within as our allergies may not be what you have)
Start of the Eating Feast
Any good meal starts with appetizers because you want to eat as much as you can and fill up so you don’t eat all the other food you ordered, right? Lol! My favorite part of any meal is the appetizer or starters as they give me a good intuition of the ‘what’s to come’ part of my main meal. Peppers and sausage in an a’oglio — hello festival of eating!
Every Italian can tell you, if the charcuterie is done right, you will just eat through the platter and crave more and my kids did that while I was talking to Joe. Why am I surprised? I have placed the same style food in front of them at home and they PASS on it, but not here!
APPETIZERS
Charcuterie that offers olives cheese and cold cuts as well as roasted red peppers it is an incredible meat and cheese board.
Garlic knots the size of your hand
Toasted bread with ricotta and fresh honey comb that shipped in from the middle east
White Pizza
What’s on this bad boy? Mozzarella, ricotta, romano, fresh garlic, olive oil with your choice of spinach or broccoli!
Pizza ala Vodka
Mozzarella topped with our homemade vodka sauce (no pizza sauce) and just a lot of yum in every bite. Warning this will sink you fast, so pace yourself! It’s undeniably delicious and the cheese is amazing!
New York Traditional Hand Tossed Thin Crust Pizza
This is the New York traditional, hand-tossed thin crust pizza a big 16″ and a crust that is impeccably New York!
Calzon Mamma Mia!
Oh so cheesy, oh so delicious. My son is the connoisseur of Calzone’s and he has marked this as The Best Of The Best after visiting at least 5 Stops this year as we travel. Teens know food and this rated at the top of the list. Inside cheese, and pepperoni were his choices!
SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT
White chocolate key lime pie(bottom left), Cannoli (top left) , Nana’s Italian Ricotta Cheesecake (top right) and Ice Cream (nut free, latex free) The Ricotta cheesecake is light, the crust in just perfection against the texture of the airiness of the ricotta and the recipe is handed down from generation to generation in Doreen’s family (Joe’s struck gold here!)
Whether you want to dine in, dine out, carry it to your kitchenette at your condo or kitchen at home, Joey’s is ready and waiting. If you could see the setup that I saw, he is so advanced, set up with an ordering station and you don’t have to go to the restaurant to pick up carry out you go right across the parking lot! (There’s tons of FREE Parking too!)
I will say this, as we travel I look for the best of the best, things like Free Parking matters when you drive, the ability to eat in or eat out also counts. In addition allergen friendly dining matters when you have a limited menu of foods you can actually eat.
If I read the word Italian, food better taste like it, and when I want a pizza I want all the ‘goodies’ that comes with it, and they better taste good as well. No let downs are what I crave and Joey’s Pizza and Pasta met this. We were one of several families dining there, and that made me feel even better about choosing here to dine.
Joe’s mastery in the pizza industry is undeniably ingenious completely earned as he really has his game together and that is so important when you’re making a food that tastes best served warm. Lavishly live the best of the best in pizza, pasta and appetizers through that belly-busting dessert and enjoy food at Joey’s Pizza and Pasta in Marco Island! ~ DANA xo
