Most kids are off from school right now and it is time to travel. Have you begun making plans? Do you have reservations somewhere or are you possibly not even on the radar for a trip? Family travel is always a great bonding experience and makes memories that last a lifetime, but it is often the where-to that makes the planning the hardest part. As a Mom I have strict travel standards for any place that we are going to lodge at and I also want a particular family environment for my kids to be surrounded in.
Where could be possibly go as a family that offers a family atmosphere with plenty to do, where there is a beach and pools as well as loads of fun things to do each day? Our destination this summer: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and our resort of choice: The Crown Reef Resort. Newly renovated(and still being renovated) with a waterpark and a lazy river all within footsteps to the ocean, making it a perfect choice for families.
Here is what I have learned while figuring out where I would stay with three children:
Did you know that the Crown Reef Resort has been undergoing a massive renovation, a $7.5 million dollar renovation to be exact. The 20-year-old Crown Reef, an all-oceanfront resort offers the most oceanfront rooms in the Grand Strand and one tower is ready for all of you planning vacations. There are 514 rooms, which include efficiencies and suites, and they all are being updated with new headboards, tables, lamps, bedding, balconies, hallway carpeting, bathroom mirrors, and paint. The kitchens are receiving all new appliances, granite countertops and cabinetry. Entertainment in the room for your family will include new flat screen televisions, as well as an oceanfront balcony.
A new Town Center, also scheduled for completion this spring, offers dining and entertainment with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop. It will include a casual restaurant, coffee bar, ice cream and sweets shop, and video game arcade and redemption center. The resort also has a fitness center and 13,000 square feet of space for meetings, banquets, weddings and events for groups from 25 to 1,200.
I can’t wait to share my photos with you so you can see this great resort and all its amenities that are waiting for our family and yours. Here is a bonus for you: The Crown Reef Resort will open a brand new waterpark for guests with two enclosed 38-foot water slides, including the world’s first hotel “Explosion” slide. The two-person “Explosion” tube slide stands 38 feet tall and 278 feet long, pumping more than 2,500 gallons of water per minute. Meanwhile, the one-person “Twister” body slide towers 38 feet tall and 302 feet long, pumping 800 gallons of water per minute. The “Kiddie” slide sits 8 feet tall and 20 feet long. The water slides, along with a silly sub play area with water sprays, bucket dumps, and a new pool bar and grill will be opening as well.
The Crown Reef Resorts already offered a 125 foot oceanfront pool, an indoor pool and 11 indoor/outdoor Jacuzzi’s in addition to the longest oceanfront lazy river(575 feet) in the Myrtle Beach Area!
The new Town Center will offer dining, and entertainment including a casual restaurant, coffee bar, ice cream shop and video game arcade, making this a family perfect destination for everyone in your traveling crew!
