Are you car shopping and totally overwhelmed by all the choices and brands? Narrowing your choice by brand first is a great way to shop, then it is time to start considering what body style most fits your life. Do you know there are different body types on vehicles?
Perhaps as you are wandering through the car lots you are seeing sedans, SUV’s, convertibles, hatchbacks. These are just a few of the body types but don’t let this scare you off from car shopping. Of course, there is a lot to consider when car shopping from what you will use the car for daily and how many people are in your family, but these decisions all lead way to body type you will purchase. Stop worrying, and there will no longer be guessing about the different car body types as we begin deciphering vehicle body types to match your lifestyle.
Deciphering Vehicle Body Types To Match Your Lifestyle
Today’s discussion will simply cover 3 popular body types: sedans, hatchbacks, and SUV’s. Hopefully, a light overview of the three most popular body types will help you trigger identity with one. Hopefully you are all set to go new car shopping after reading this.
Sedans are vehicles that can carry between 4 and 5 passengers and offer trunk space of some sort. The sedan vehicle may have 4 or 5 doors, (the 5th can be a hatchback as there are hatchback sedans) The first row and second row of seating are separated by what is referred to as ‘fixed pillars’.
Sedans can be full size, luxury or sports sedans. Luxury sedans will typically be the most expensive and offer the most amenities, from top grain leather to fine detailed stitching to metallic paint and included navigations systems.
Full-size sedans are truly perfect for those families that have 2 adults and 2 teens as there will be enough leg room. However, a mid-size sedan that offers to seat 4-5 may be miserable if you have 2 adults, 2 teens, and a child under 12 because the leg room will be cramped.
Hatchback vehicles are perfect for growing families, active couples and those that need the ability to collapse the 2nd row of seating and place items to be stored for hauling to destinations. Are you a couple? Do you shop at the warehouse clubs or do you bike? You will love the interior room of these vehicles and the fact that the seats collapse as loading becomes a snap! A hatchback has a trunk door, a hatchback door rather that swings upward to open.
SUV’s are amazing vehicles for singles, teens, couples, small families and large families and everything in between. Simply put, an SUV is a sports utility vehicle and it fits into lifestyles everywhere. From those that love the outdoors, or bulk shopping to ice hockey families, this body type has game! Some are classified as trucks but are actually family vehicles because you can fit many into some models and brands.
Now that you have a brief overview you can hit the car lots, your local dealership and start shopping for the car that fits your lifestyle, which will it be?
