We walked into the shelter and we saw so many cats. The journey to find Bella the cat had been a long, and tumultuous battle, of finding just the right cat. I wanted a black and white cat or all black, and long hind legs, like a little rabbit. My kids were just happy we were going to have a new ‘best friend’ in our house.
As we walked into yet another shelter, the last of the day, we all eye-spied a tiny little black ball, curled up in her cage, not interacting, just watching. We asked to see her, she cuddled up into my daughter’s arms and the rest is history.
Bella is super important to our family as you all have cats and totally understand. Here are fabulous tips for celebrating the year of the cat, your cat, and everyone’s cat so we can all lavishly living cats out loud!
Fabulous Tips for Celebrating The Year Of The Cat
Love, pet, brush and hug that little kitty, they grow up so fast. We soon found out that Bella is not the most snuggle-bound cat. Bella likes her independence and freedom in the house, yet can be very loving when she wants to be noticed. Cat wellness begins the moment you take ownership of a cat, and then it trickles all the way down to the grain free food you choose.
Give Them Their Space
The first point of business with celebrating the year of the cat gives them plenty of unconditional love and give them their space. Bella has developed a space to stay in, by herself in each room, from the kid’s rooms to the kitchen. The kids tote her all around, but they also allow her to just ‘be.’
Feed them Well
Remember that you are totally in charge of this little cat’s life. They have no way to help themselves, so whatever you give them they accept. With that in mind, truly pay attention to what you put in their bellies.
We have chosen to give Bella the healthiest foods available, dry and wet. Her well-being rests on our choices and we make good choices to support her souls and to sustain her life while protecting her body.

Lap It Up
Don’t forget to make sure that you give your cat plenty of water because cats need to stay hydrated. Bella for some reason believes she is a street cat living in a house, and she heads to all of our faucets and demands we turn them on for her to drink from! Yes, she is spoiled but again, we chose her and all the responsibilities that come along with being her family! We lavishly live life out loud and celebrate the year of the cat!
