All through my college training in Spanish, our teacher from Guatemala never spoke in English but she always brought in new food to try.
That’s where the freshman 15 came from, lol!

So, naturally, not all of the recipes I am about to share were served at my school party, but some were.
What was most important is that my students learned the rich history behind the celebration, but their project was to create a simple recipe.
Their Cinco de Mayo food recipes had to be written in Spanish!
Just as my teacher in college had prepared me to speak Spanish, and used food to share the culture, I did much the same.
There’s just something about food that brings everyone together.
Each recipe is super easy, no worries and they are yummy too!

My donuts are BAKED not fried.
