There is nothing like finding a new car, ready and waiting for you to test out in your driveway. Some of the cars I have tested out are so tripped out with ‘extras’ that I can hardly wrap my head around it and it is gone. There are the other vehicles that are just bare bones, stripped down and basic and I don’t like those because to me, they are nothing more than a ride without anything fun to make me focus! I definitely am a SUV loving snob that prefers height from the ground, rather than smacking butt cheek to road(so to speak). The tires 17″, 20″ are all relevant to the car, the appearance but often not the ride. It is interesting how different SUV’s are higher or lower and that a manufacturer can term a vehicle an SUV even though it could more just pass for a dressed-up station wagon and not an SUV. Adventure. Eat. DIY. Repeat. test driving a 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport in the Pittsburgh terrain is the best way to see what this car is made of! Buckle up those seat belts, we are about to get out there and climb those hills and dodge those Pittsburgh Famous potholes!
The Hyundai Sonata Sport
My curiosity is always peaked as I test out all these vehicles. While I am hardly a car buff, I can tell you what features rock and which irritate me. I have had plenty of vehicles where I find the side mirrors really create unforgiving blindspots, and I have had cars that rocket so fast ahead of me I can’t keep up. One thing is certain, from my perspective, each car offers something different, from another, whether it is how the brakes work or how the steering wheel is heated and it is never just about the upgraded or lack of upgraded packages within a car that make it a good ride. What makes me smile is when the car is as intriguing the day it leaves me as the day that it arrived. If a car can keep up with me, I am happy!
Pittsburgh has that great terrain for testing out a car and its ‘guts’ if you want to call it that. Some cars just don’t fit the bill when traveling up our hills, and down our hills. Braking systems are whimpie, or the engine is not big enough for the call on it and of course there are the potholes and curvy uphill terrain that we often face. The daily challenges of driving is what allows me to put the cars through the rigors of life and see if it would really be a suitable vehicle or just a hot mess!
To be honest, I had my doubts if this car and I were going to get along. Of course I had to challenge the Hyundai Sonata Sport as soon as I got in, to its first road competition, after all, don’t all these people get, I have a hill waiting for me? So…. My first taste that it would be adequate was on the highway when the first car was in my way, because they just were not going the speed or 10 miles above … snicker snicker, like they should have been. The Hyundai Sonata and I bonded when I clipped out into the left lane and never missed a beat, and I did not miss sucking the bumper of their car anymore either, lol! The pickup and move in this 4 door sedan is pretty impressive and I have to tell you, I like the feel of it against the road, even though my body is literally inches from the ground! The car holds tight to the curves.
The hill was so happy to see me, that one trip up was not enough, after all my camera guy MJ had to hold on tight, lol.. I really need a selfie stick! I was having far too much fun behind the wheel, and I just wanted to share with you as I lavishly lived life out loud in the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport! –
I was provided a car to test drive, with no expectation of a review, thoughts and opinions are my own as I lavishly live life out loud and share it with you!
