Pittsburgh, Photography and What Not TO Wear To A Photo Shoot
Your time is precious, your photographer’s time is too and your photo session is not inexpensive. Let’s get the time you are spending there to work best for you and make it possible for your photographer to clean things up in the photo without having to get mouse-cramp from all the editing. You scheduled a time with the photographer, make sure you bring along and wear the clothes that you need to make the photo look its best. I sat down and chatted with Marta Greca, owner of apples + cinema Pittsburgh and discussed clothing and 4 things not to wear for a photo shoot. With a large background in wedding, maternity and family photography, Marta can talk shop without blinking an eyeball, let’s see what she has to say.
Marta told me that Pittsburgh has some of the most gorgeous backdrops around for all the seasons in the year and the greenery and the snow are outstanding to photo in. Apples + Cinema have photo’d in it all and there are 4 Things Not To Wear For A Photo Shoot as it can take away from the focus of the photo and the background that makes it all work! Are you ready to learn?
Stripes Are NOT The Camera’s Friend Or Yours In A Photo Shoot
You got your pin-striped Sunday best suit out and you chose a pin-striped scarf, and you are set to roll out that fashion in front of the camera, except the camera is going to roll all over you. Don’t use those striped shirts going up and down and side to side either , just say no to stripes. The pin-stripe, the wide stripes, the up and down strips, are not flattering in photos, because it will cause weird patterns to evolve in the photo taking away from YOUR look and from the photo. Say no to the stripes.
Neon is cool to look at, neon is bright, but Neon kills a photographer’s ability to bring up brightness in your photos. The Neon will be bright on your, but your background and faces may not be, because the brightness can’t happen! Save the neon for family adventures so you can pick one another out of a crowd, but don’t wear it to a photo shoot!
Busy Prints and Writing
Busy Prints are great for holidays, under sweaters or even if you are looking to take attention off of your face, but the purpose of a photo session is to accent your face and show you off! You might as well wear a paper bag if you wear a shirt with busy prints because the result will be the same. Busy prints will take away attention from the your face, don’t use them for your photo shoot.
It’s In Now
So you have an outfit your rock, the tall boots, the short skirt, the sweater that hangs lower in the back, and shows more tummy up front and you just kill in it! Great, kill in it at work, not on the photo shoot because there is no better way to KILL the joy of a photo and make it look dated than to wear the ‘current trend setting’ clothes. Rock your outfit when you go out, not when you are on a photo shoot!
