Pack your vehicle with shopping bags, changes of clothing and shoes and let’s get going! Summer days are long, and the weather is outstanding for tons of fun!
Michigan has a lot of great vacation destinations, and Grandville is definitely one to consider. It’s time to travel, eat, adventure, and repeat with these 5 summer things to do in Grandville! Who’s going?
Grandville celebrates summer. Set your car Navigation system to visit Grandville as there is plenty to do for couples, teens, families, and grandparents. Really, the destination hits every genre perfectly.
P.S. – while I won’t mention it again, don’t forget to check out Rivertown Crossings Mall, it is perfect for powerhouse shoppers!
Visit Buck Creek Trail
Does anything say summer more than a nice morning or early afternoon walk?! This trail is the perfect way to relax and unwind and take in scenic Buck Creek. Compared to other trails in Grandville, this one is on the shorter side, however, don’t let that discourage you!
You’re sure to have a serene walk on a well-groomed trail that even includes picnic grounds and baseball fields. Buck Creek trail is the perfect excuse to pack up the family in your large cargo spaces in your Jeep, Minivan or truck, take a lunch, and (don’t forget your sunscreen) spend the day, you definitely will not be disappointed!
Play A Round of Mini Golf at Loeschner’s Village Green
Scwhingggggg! One of the kids’ favorite things to do when we go away is to try a mini-golf course for some outdoor fun and some healthy competition. Loescher’s is one of the best mini golf courses in Grandville.
The location offers not one, but TWO courses, offering endless fun and diverse challenges for each course, and a cute and versatile snack bar convenient for the after game snack. This is a definite must visit in Grandville!
Visit No10 Schoolhouse
It’s always important when traveling, in my opinion, to get acquainted with the history of the area you’re visiting and this next place on my list of must-see places in Grandville for summer does just that.
No10 Schoolhouse is a schoolhouse that was built in 1887 with just one room for schooling at the time. Now, an active exhibit about what schooling was like when it was built, this is one of the coolest places to visit and take the kids to learn about how the school system has evolved!
Drink Some Moonshine @ Michigan Moonshine Distillery
I always say no trip can be complete without a little bit of “adult juice”, especially if you complete this list with your kiddos by your side. This moonshine distillery produces and sells moonshine!
Additionally, they craft other barrel-aged spirits made from local ingredients, but the atmosphere is quaint, rustic, and welcoming, and all of the bartenders and staff are super friendly! Cheers. Ching! Ching!
Enjoy a Sweet Treat At Streenstra’s Dutch Royal Bakery
This bakery is a gem in Grandville, just ask the locals! From every sweet treat you could imagine, to the most scrumptious homemade bread, this bakery does it all, does it well, and does it with a smile.
Not only has it been family owned and operated since ‘53 but the baked goods are phenomenal, homemade, and preservative free! The staff is incredibly friendly.
Streenstra’s Dutch Royal Bakery is very well known for their doughnuts! The donuts are moist, fully filled, and perfectly cooked! Every bite is absolutely to die for. If you’re in need of a quick sugar fix, this is definitely the place to go!
