I always like to make sure that I make the most of my travel time and learn the area well.

Echo Park is in a very strategic location.
Now, there is also a lot to experience and do in Echo Park. For those in LA for the first time, this will be a treat of an area.
Maybe I should say this is a great way to break into LA style as a cool cat!
Echo Park Film Center (EPFC)
Echo Park is perfect for those who are into films. Grassroots to the core here, for film and film lovers.
There are film-related events like script readings and screenings.
Also, networking ops for those really into filmmaking, just all-around grand and LA is all about the movies right?
Echo Park Lake
Echo Park Lake is a family-friendly place to be. In fact, you will find an impressive downtown skyline view.
Additionally, it offers a beautiful backdrop of the lotus flower blooms.
Did you know that Echo Park Lake used to be a water reservoir in 1860?
However, it slowly evolved into a recreational park and it is what it is today.
You can pedal around in the boat or take a stroll across the edges of the lake.
Also, take note of the tall eucalyptus trees, they are awesome!
Last, seek out the Lady of the Lake statue.
Also, if you’re here during breakfast time, make a pit stop at the Beacon, which is known for serving delicious breakfast food.
Echoplex
Got a music lover in you? You’ll enjoy your time at the Echoplex- a club that plays everything from electronica to different flavors of indie.
Make sure you visit there when it is reasonably crowded though because sometimes, the crowd can be a bit too much to handle.
Additionally, there’s a bi-monthly dance party you can be a part of- an occasion, you’ll find touring artists featuring their shows here.
Echo Park Art Gallery
For art enthusiasts, Echo Park also comes with an art gallery called iam8bit.
Here you’ll find art shows inspired by pop culture and video games, and most of the exhibits have an interesting element to themselves, sometimes also oozing with a sense of humor.
The opening parties of the art gallery often draw in crowds of hundreds, but if you do get the chance to be a part of it, go for it, because you’ll surely enjoy it to the fullest.
Elysian Park
The Elysian Park is probably the oldest park founded in LA- full of palm trees.
Take a hike through the park to engage yourself in some stunning views of the valley, the Dodger Stadium, and the Hollywood Hills.
If you come here on weekends, you can also enjoy some activities, especially if you have a canine companion with you.
Dine Out
It can be hard to find a fine dining restaurant at Echo Park, but you’ll still be spoilt for choice with the tons of options available- right from pizza places to restaurants serving Mexican food.
And yes, vegans will also find a lot to enjoy when they are here.
