I don’t want the impractical pieces that you sell for thousands of dollars that can’t be reconfigured, updated or changed out, you bore me.

Best Place To Shop For Television Entertainment Centers
The day is coming quicker than I imagined and while our team may not be playing, we have now conceded to cheer on another team.
I plan on providing Cheer power to whatever team I dislike the least, lol! That is how it goes in every house right?
Now it is all about how to get ready for the big game. I will tell you we all know it is about Television and Food and nothing else matters.
For us, it’s time for a DIY in our Family Room.
We needed to give the television the best possible arrangement for our viewing pleasure.
Additionally, we needed to provide the television the best seat in the house!
Darn, did I give it away? You bet, so start taking notes, because IKEA offers the most flexible, changeable, budget-enabling, complete product that YOU will find anywhere. Trust me, I am Queen Shop and if I did not believe in IKEA or it’s products there is no way it would show up on my website. I love this store because growing families have furniture growing pains and IKEA solves everything.
Figuring Out Your Room Needs
My chief complaint about our spacious family room is that it is so open and big that it offers no storage, but things are about to get changed.
Before we cheer on a team, party, and celebrate, field goals, hockey goals, we need to showcase our television.
We need to be able to see the television clearly, yet gain storage, we are a large family!
Blankets, movies, music, toys, trinkety stuff from trips, photos and more are all around the room, but it never feels picked up.
The television is currently sitting on a glass stand and while was the decor trend a few years back, it looks like a sore thumb sticking out in our room.
PULL THINGS TOGETHER
We need to mesh the colors, get the deep-colored wood and add in drawers, shelving and a nice resting area for the television that fits with its size.
Right now, the television is not really on that glass table, and it is more hanging off the sides!
I beg the boys to be careful while they pretend tackling and not to roll on into it during one of their in-house football tackles.
It’s off to IKEA Pittsburgh to save the day from not working out in our family room.
There I can configure my Entertainment Center.
Look out IKEA here we come!
See some salesperson sold me this glass piece, telling me that it was, “all the had in stock and what ‘EVERYBODY’ was buying.”
A few years back, I listened, and guess what? I will never let a salesperson Cookie Cutter my home up with something that totally does not fit my taste ever again.

It actually pains me to look at the top 2 photos, and how bad the room looked.
Could I possibly have been in here with blindfolds the last 2 years to not have seen the total YUCK in design?

Ready To Hustle
You can already see an extreme change-up in the room, that is so much for the better.
The color or this unit is awesome with our brown leather couches and of course, we are still putting it together.
The Far Right and Far Left are KALLAX – these are wonderful because you can leave them open, close them off with drawers, baskets or doors.
Do note, they NEED to be secured to the wall for safety.
DRAWERS, CABINETS AND MORE
I am going to be adding in drawers, cabinets, clear glass and baskets to make this center hide my stuff or display it.
The thing about it is, I can make it work for my house.
Kallax on either of the sides could have been added on later if we could not afford to do it all at once and the top piece (BESTA) could be added on.
We did it now, I must have this system altogether at one time, not later! Why? The mess must tamper down!
There is no one size fits all at IKEA.
I am so over-the-top compulsive I had to have an equal balance which is why KALLAX is on both sides.
Also, you might note that the top piece (BESTA) offers three drawers on the main console and you will see up above the hanging BESTA offers 3 storage areas as well.
However, it could have just been two, we took a 2 piece and added an additional single BESTA to match my OCD needs, lol!

The side Kallax that you see is the same kind that my daughter uses in her dorm room for shelving, so there is no ONE way to use decor and furniture from IKEA and that is what I love.
You can just keep on reusing it when you stop using it for what you originally bought it for! SCORE, Touchdown, a winning combination.

My Side Kallax is the awesome shelving units that can stand straight up, or on their sides, pretty much, however, you need them to work.
The Kallax make storage easy. A few will have doors, and drawers and baskets and guess what?
You won’t be able to see the messes in those areas, but you could if I left them uncovered.
Really, this is the best way to purchase furniture because you make it yours.
Pre-designed is not for everyone.

The Kallax & The Besta System – Television Entertainment Centers
I chose where I wanted the drawers and open shelving and made the decision of doors that popped open and did not require handles.
NO finger slamming was a concern, as we had a piece with a door before and the kids hurt themselves on it, so IKEA has a soft close so that there is no door slamming.
Decisions, decisions and all brought to you by IKEA. Now it’s time to add on the television to see how things are coming together.

Oh Yeah, it’s getting there. While we still have to add-in our doors, drawers, and shelving, we built this up inside of 2 nights with only a few hours total.
The tools we used the most are our RYOBI Drill a wonderful power tool that gets our kudos!
We are so close to ready for Game Day, I can’t wait to finish, but seriously what a difference right? This system is everything I have wanted and more and it matches, keeps the eye flowing all around the room and the dark color is what makes this gorgeous in my opinion.
