The first thing I was greeted with today was a view of this lovely sailboat. From here the picturesque water of this tropical Caribbean destination gets even more intensely gorgeous. Where I am is not about making sure your teens are quiet, nor is it so ostentatious that you feel like you have to wear your best apparel.
Today, I am about to relinquish the best resort in Bonaire for snorkeling and relaxing because that is what I am enjoying. How often do you actually find a resort that is truly family-friendly, offers the best in diving, snorkeling, and downtime by 2 pools? Going away should not mean putting your best clothes on every day and getting dressed up. It means your surroundings should be dressed up for you and you should just have to relax in the atmosphere
I believe that tranquil waters and a drink in my hand are heaven. My husband and teens believe that pools are great, but snorkeling is better. Here we have found the combination of all, bringing a delightful tropical smile to this travel-writer’s face! Are you ready to find out where the best resort for snorkeling and relaxing in Bonaire is? Lavishly live travel out loud and join in on our adventure!
Best Resort In Bonaire for Snorkeling and Relaxing
We arrived by ship to the port and town of Kralendijk, Bonaire. A lovely town offering nightlife, food, and shopping. We simply walked about 10 minutes to the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort and Casino, our host for today’s events. All images, content, and thoughts are my own, based on my experience at the location.
Meet & Greet and Off To A Tropical Relaxing Day
The top photo is the entrance, the driveway and the front office, So tropical and so lovely.
But, look at this, even more inviting once you walk through the arches. Look at this reception area. Bring on the relaxation!
So Where To First?
Ocean View Please
As a traveling kind of gal, I want to know everything about the property I am visiting. Naturally wanted to see the rooms that everyone was living in.
The Divi Flamingo Resort is booked solid and regularly and I can understand why. From cleanliness to the location it’s got it all.
All of the necessities are in the room, from a safe to a bed and there is really great WiFi here (used it and appreciated every moment of it!)
Look at this ocean view, just perfect from every angle. From the balcony of the room, there was just a glimpse of my view.
Other Lodging Option At The Resort
Here is another part of the Divi Flamingo Resort, while not oceanfront, the pool view is grand too.
This pool has this smaller pool for soaking.
I have to tell you that while it is fully booked, you won’t know there are others because most leave and snorkel and dive for the day.
The pools are to yourself. (these photos are at 111 am)
Have you been to some resorts where they save the cabanas for those that pay a fee? Not here.
In fact, we set up camp here until we went snorkeling.
There were also seats with large umbrellas.
Just look at the pool, it’s so inviting. It’s clean, it’s fun, but do exercise caution as it gets very slick around the pool area.
For just a moment, imagine your most comfortable bed, and all the things you love about it.
Now look at this cabana chair, it is as comfortable as your bed.
The cushion is incredibly comfortable and cradles you, and suddenly you are asleep.
A Sundeck With Cabanas
While you are not seeing the cabanas they are behind me up here as well.
These are the best lounge seats in the house from sunrise to sunset.
Leave me with a drink in my hand, a cabana and the sun and I am relishing in luxury.
To me, this is as good as it gets and it’s all here at the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort.
More Water & Views Please
There is seating all over this resort, from hut cabanas to umbrellas, poolside, deckside and even pier side.
The Pier For Snorkeling and Sun & Beverages
Remember I shared that oceanfront room view with you? This is the water and this is the location the person was snorkeling in.
Crystal clear water and super calm conditions! Perfect for the beginner or those that love to get in the water and look explore!
The deck area overlooks the snorkeling.
That’s right, you can snorkel right at the resort. You go down a set of stairs and you are in pristine water that offers a lot to see.
Beaches in Bonaire are a bit non-existent, there are really no long stretches of beach, so Divi Flamingo Resort has the best of the best in options.
Sun & Fun on The Pier
These chairs are prime territory because the bar is right here and they bring the drinks!
What Does A Beverage Look Like?
I am so glad you asked because I tested a few out for you. Check out my Margarita.
The Path To Paradise
Use this path to get to the Dive Shop, Casino, restaurants, bar, water area, snorkeling pier and all the pools and rooms.
This is your everywhere path. The path to paradise.
Right Before The Dive Shop …
These are seats right by the dive shop. If you just returned from a dive chances are you have visited the bar to unwind and enjoy a cocktail.
Wondering where it is on the property? The seating you see here is directly across from pool number 2, the non-oceanfront villas, though once you open your door you can see the ocean!
The Dive Shop
While I will detail the diving and snorkeling far more in a different article, this is right on the property of the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort.
You can build diving and snorkeling right into your package and it is the best of the best. Check out TripAdvisor if you don’t believe me.
Their instructors are top notch!
Drinks & Eats
While I did not experience dining at PureOcean (it’s where breakfast happens), I did dine at the CHIBI CHIBI RESTAURANT & BAR.
I will share more with you in a separate article for dining at the Divi Flamingo Resort.
Happiness at the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort Bonaire
A grin on my face can tell you all you need to know. If I am not happy you would be the first ones I would tell. There’s just no way not to love this resort.
The Divi Flamingo Resort in Bonaire is family-friendly, and while luxury, not a stuck-up snotty place. Which there truly is no other way to put it.
Kids are not frowned upon, and people staying there were all quite friendly.
There were other families and actually the genre spread from very young (we saw toddlers) up to the golden years.
In fact, the one lady diving has been going there 40+ years for the diving, she’s awesome! Lavishly live travel out loud at the Resort In Bonaire for Snorkeling and Relaxing! ~ DANA
