My favorite part of going out is finding an establishment I can connect with. Who knew that a few years ago, our find, Burgatory in Robinson Township would catapult into a butterfly and spread like crazy? We did. Which leads us to tonight’s outing at the Waterfront location!
When you offer a great meal, great hard milkshakes(or virgin) word is sure to spread and Pittsburgh spreads great new of food. It’s not just the food, it’s the service staff as well, we have visited their stores without their knowledge and with their knowledge and we are always treated consistently across the board. The staff is fun and the food is devilishly delicious! A Pittsburgh Must Dine At! We love our food, we support our great establishments and you will fall into heavenly, sinful pleasure when eating at Burgatory. Park the car, far away so you can walk off those extra calories. Eat, indulge, fill that sweet and salty tooth, because live is divine at Burgatory let the devil of dare you with perfectly pitched burgers, milkshakes and appetizers. Remember you are going into use those forks, fingers, spoons, hands and enjoying local foods whenever it is possible. Look out below!
So our destination was the newer location, Burgatory Waterfront. We got our reminder text of our reservation, I LOVE THAT! It was raining so my husband went and parked the car and I came in and got seated. The place was jumping at 7:30 P on a Saturday night, never would have expected that right, lol?
I met Tami our most fabu server ever and we dine out a lot! Tami was fun, helpful and we let her take over, ordering for us just a bit, so we could change up what I might normally order and offer you a few different options when you dine there. Tami has been working this industry since she was 16 years old, and she has customer service and cool so perfectly done, I can’t tell you enough, but ask for her if you get to the Waterfront, though all the staff there is great!
Let’s rock: Drinks- Cocktails call them what you want, I will just call them my delight! Cheers to you with this!
Yes, I am a Margarita girl and love, love, love these. I don’t know if the straw makes them better, but I have a drawer full(should I admit that, lol). The Mike’s Scratch Margarita is wickedly good, perfectly balanced and sweet without killing the taste of the margarita. The citrus in this is probably what makes it the best or is it the pomegranate? I don’t know but it sure is amazing, you have to enjoy one or two while you are there. My husband loves the beer and there are 12 different rotating beers so we always ask our servers, but tonight he enjoyed Yuengling Lager.
Down to Fingers and the beginning of our adventure into Burgatory at Waterfront. I was not able to make a decision on an appetizer, just because I always choose something my husband would not want and vice versa. We always agree in the end, but the initial pick is the hardest. Tami made it easy, she picked two that she loves and sent it out! Look at these, and I really don’t know how we ate dinner after this, well I could lie a bit but I took some Burgatory Burger home.
Check these out live, just served to our table here in my quick insider’s video. *****Warning you are about to see live food that just came out of the kitchen and will make you crave it! *********
Bangkok Steak Fries – These are delicacies but you have to LOVE portobello mushrooms and I live in that zone. The tempura batter offers a crisp, refreshing new take on a mushroom ‘batter’ and the Thai Peanut Dipping Sauce is light, not oily and will have your lips salivating for the next bite(I spooned this stuff out, so Burgatory bad, right)?
Now for the other appetizer, it was sinfully delightful: the Truffled Gorgonzola takes you away, against the french fries and it is served in this cute little paper-lined bucket. Do you sense the need for Margarita number 2 right about here? I do, to keep on munching and enjoying it is necessary to wet the mouth and begin again! Heaven and earth meet in this combo of fries and cheese, done elegantly with Truffled Gorgonzola in the Pommes Frites.
This was my Phat Patti’s Veggie Burger. Let me talk to you about vegetarian burgers and dining out. One of the largest challenges I have found when dining out is the burger territory. Basically, most restaurants out there just grab those grocery store veggie patties, and throw them on the menu, fry them up and pass them off as their vegetarian bean burger, oh yeah, processed stuff I can buy at the grocery store. NOT the deal at Burgatory. This is a specially created, made-to-order burger that has nothing ordinary or plain about it. Simply, smoked Gouda and baby arugula leading the way to a great tasting burger that includes ground cremini mushrooms, lentils, cashews and many other ingredients. There is nothing BLAH about this burger, in fact, it kicks a regular burgers butt any day! Now what is a puffer? Tami and I were discussing this Puffer chip. It is the most coveted of all the homemade chips that are placed on the plate. This chip has a PUFF to it and offers an extra crunch, consider it in line with those chips you get in your chip bag that are folded and special, the puffer of the chip is the airbubble chip and I grabbed it! Tami knows all about them and she laughed and said that goes on at a lot of tables and then she found another one and my husband ate it!
The chips are hand peeled, and consist of Sweet & Russet potatoes, so ever bite is a gift of taste and you can taste the difference between the chips.
I had to move fast and I was pre-occupied eating my own burger and drinking my drink, but my husband dined on the Special of the night, something new that they are trying out at Burgatory. His burger was ANGEL CRUSTED KANGAROO BURGER, With Farmhouse Cheddar, roasted cauliflower puree, onion marmalade, greens and brioche. This was diabolical in taste, according to my husband and there were simply no other words, just lips meeting the bun and away it went. Sorry I was not quicker on the camera, just know it is a choice that if offered do not resist, order!
We had to stop eating at some point but that meant it was time to shake things up. Shakes at Burgatory can be Hard Shakes or Classic, but either way they are thick, rich and hand spun. No matter what shake you pick it will have you shaking it to get to the bottom for more! The S’MORE has quickly become the fav for me and again we love these straws, my kids collect them, so you can only imagine my brimming drawer from all their stops getting their shakes there! To go is just as good as staying with them! Your choice but either way you gotta try a Heavenly Shake.
Dining out in the burg means finding a brand that is good and service that is better. Easily done with a stop at Burgatory and one of their many locations. The food is amazing and you can eat there if you are vegetarian or meat loving, there is no difference. If you are just looking for something sweet try a shake, there are no others out there like these! Burgatory is my little secret for great food in the burgh! Lavishly living life out loud with great shakes and food at Burgatory!
Special thanks to Tami and Burgatory for this great night out! Can’t wait to see you soon! Just so we are all clear, images, and opinions are my own, yours may differ!
