I am well aware I spelled Beeches wrong, but it is not Beaches that I am referring to for this story, it is a home called THE BEECHES.  I spent the other afternoon speaking with a few moms about traveling to Florida. Our conversation was fully centered around Florida, the costs associated with a Disney, LEGO, Universal Studio vacation and where to stay. The moms and I have agreed, that after  a few visits to Disney, we all got wise to the ways of how we could spend our money and it is clearly NOT staying on the Disney properties.  We love Disney, Universal, LEGOLAND and a few other parks in Orlando, but each time we visit, the parks get a little less magical as the money that is filtered out of pocket over a vacation becomes more and more with each passing trip.
An easy way to save at least 20% on your trip and in most cases up to 50% percent is staying in a rental home in Central Florida, but you have to know where to stay and what to seek.  Frugality is achieved by  getting the best you can get for the money you have available at the lowest possible prices.  Housing more than one family, or one larger family in a rental home makes perfect travel ‘cents’ as you will save 50% or more daily by living in a rental home situation.  While the area is a luxury area and there are those of you saying how could this make any ‘cents’ do read on because you are getting a full vacation, not a vacation that will leave you needing a vacation.
Let your vacation allowance work for you and get the most for your money with a rental home. Â Our friends own this home and we are lucky enough to enjoy it and wanted to share it with you as an option! Â The Beeches has it all, and we have stayed in a lot of homes, so I can say this without a doubt! You can figure in most cases, with 2 families in a home, about $150 a day, do your grocery shopping and eat from the house, and the money you will save will be unbelievable.
We all agreed, that staying on Disney property the first time down may cut out parking but it adds to a whole list of other items that are not so magical. As a larger family, getting one room is really not an option. After a day in the park, everyone wants to sprawl out, clean up and use the bathroom. However, one room equals one bathroom and one bathroom with 5, 6 and 7 people means someone is always going and there is never a free toilet moment. Not the most comforting way to vacation. My one friend even said that they had purposefully asked to stay near the lobby a few times in order to be closer to a bathroom, but she also said that has its drawbacks, like all the non-stop commotion in the lobby.
Beyond the bathroom, there are sleep issues, and food needs, so what we all easily agreed on is that a rental home is key to enjoying Disney, and all the amusement parks and attractions in Florida. We have found and stayed at some really nice homes and then we have stayed at some that I would never go back to. This is all dependent on the owner, the community, how much they want to wow you, attract you back and how interested they are in their own home. Â The owners that actually pride themselves in their home, add to it and keep it looking like a page in a magazine are where you want to be and I have found you a gem of a home and a community that is a must.
We actually have found a most sought after haven to stay at in Central Florida, which will keep us close enough to get to all the action packed fun days we are having, but also provide us comfort, luxury and free time away from those attractions: Â Sunset Lakes. Â If you have been to Walt Disney World, you are surely familiar with Sunset Lakes because it is one of the most sought after locations near Disney. Â This is an exclusive community, consisting of just 161 luxury homes. Â The location is just a little over a mile from Highway 192 and the Formosa Gardens Shopping center, which allows for shopping till you drop in addition to dining at your fingertips! Â Location, location, location isn’t that what you are after when you buy a house? Well, location is key when you are on vacation as well and the home I am about to introduce you to piece by piece is one you will have to book at least 8 months in advance because it is often reserved and you will shortly understand why! Our friends spend a little time there each year and they do this to make upgrades and make sure that their home is in perfect condition for all of you to stay in! We try to go when they are there as the house easily sleeps up to 16 and it becomes a real party!
For those that travel in the summer, when the parks are open late, you will love the location if you have kids and want to come home midday to relax and dine and then return to the parks for fireworks and shows you are four miles away so commuting back and forth is nothing.  Come home, relax, swim, rest, eat and then go for some more, and you will be no worse for the wear!  However, there are those days when the kids have just had enough and you just have to know when to say when.  Fireworks can be seen right from the dock and he cabana on the big lake, so unless you want to go back into the crowds or hear the music, you can just hang back right where you are  and relax, after all isn’t that what the vacation is all about?
While I am on the subject of the big lake, you should know that the lake in Sunset Lakes is fully stocked with fish and you can fish catch and release fish each day.   The Beeches Home is inside of this community and the home includes a kitchen, patio, pool, grill, living room, a few bathrooms and 4 bedrooms, with an additional game room. Once we are all together it becomes a party, yet you can still have your own private spaces as well as bathroom as there are 6 bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms!
The Lay Of The Land Inside Sunset Lakes
It is amazing to find this hidden treasure of a community, even though so many want to be here, it is still very calm. Â The nearness of Highway 192 and Walt Disney World leave the community unscathed but super conveniently located. Â The community offers a swimming pool, as well as a play area for the kids that still have not run off their energy doing everything else. Â You don’t have to go far to seek the play area. Â Don’t get too excited but inside the community you may see some real wildlife including armadillos, Sandhill Cranes and the American Bald Head Eagle because there is a conservation area.
Back to our conversation on location; you are super close to eateries of every sort from McDonald’s to the Outback.
The Idea of How To Save Frugality
Your stay begins by figuring out your dates and contacting HOME AWAY for booking. Â What you will have is the option of more than one family in a home which means that a fee of $255 is split in half so right from the starting point, you are paying 50% less than you would have to stay in a hotel and you are gaining your personal, pool, a few bathrooms, a game room, Â and a kitchen. Â Just start your bankroll right there because even if I would not write anymore, having your own kitchen saves you breakfast, lunch and dinner providing you are in the right location and can access your home! Â The frugality of staying in this home comes down to dollars and cents and relaxation that you won’t find on any property in or on the parks. You will find a tranquil setting to rest your bones, and enjoy the family.
See you at the Beeches….. To Be Continued……
