How many times have you found uses for items you buy in your home that were not listed on the bottle, jar, or product? I am all about getting the most out of everything I buy and sometimes, in a pinch, without a minute to spare or time to travel to the store I will subsitute products that I have in my closets looking for results. This is pretty much known as a tip from the underground, you know something that is wonderful, changes the way you see a product and how you know how to use it! Get ready because today, I am about to show you that Dawn Dish Detergent has risen from the underground and has more cleaning power than just a greasy old batch of dishes. In fact, you will be surprised to find out that laundry pre-treating is something that Dawn can get down and dirty with, lol! Lavishly live laundry secrets out loud and see what a Drop of Dawn Beyond the sink can do for you!
We all know that DAWN is a grease-cutting, dish soap that clean your kitchen surfaces but it also can rock the laundry pile. If you have kids, and you have stains, meet your new best friend. Here’s what a drop of DAWN can do for you!
Meet my Mr. Mess above. He lets nothing stand in his way of food, and a missing napkin. In fact, his shirt is his napkin, his food catcher, his catch-all and then my washer is his catch-all. Sometimes I can’t get those stains out. IN pure frustration, I began combing my shelves for a solution and this is what I have come up with.
His most recent stain was on a school shirt, and somehow on the one sleeve he just got something on it, but he has no ‘idea’ how! I do have an idea how to get the stain out and I can’t wait to share it with you! I wonder if this is going to work?
Take a Teaspoon or Two(maximum) and be sure to test an inconspicuous area of the clothing before trying this front and center. My son should be known as Mr. Stain. He eats and in true boy fashion, wipes his mouth on his shirt and often wears more of what he has eaten than not! In is case stains just happen from tomato sauce, blueberries, and grease from playing on the seats of the bus he rides to school(yuck)!
Apply Dawn directly to any cotton/polycotton fabric*, covering the entire stained area, and rub it in using your fingers.
Then wash it normally with Tide in your washing machine**.
Do not reapply Dawn to the same spot and wash again.
* For best results, use a little less than two teaspoons (9.5 mL) of Dawn in a top-loading washing machine – be sure not to use too much, and don’t use on delicate fabrics like silk. Spot test with a small drop in a less visible area to make sure the material will not be damaged.
** HE washing machines can be sensitive and cycle times may vary.
Now let’s take a look at the results! What a difference, my stain is gone, his shirt is ready and waiting again for Mr. Mess to challenge it and me!
Now it’s time for you to love being in your laundry room when you grab Dawn for beyond the sink. Dawn Beyond The Sink helps you lavishly live life out loud because it offers so many alternative uses! I personally am excited to share my find with you and any tip and trick that lets a product multi-function makes me happy.
