The ambiance you live in can really deter a good nights sleep. In fact, people coming and going all hours of the night from work schedules to ‘dates’ can play havoc on how deeply you might sleep. A white noise app can mask the outside noises and allow you a constant sound barrier. That barrier of white noise lets you get into your sleep and hopefully stay there. To gain a good night of rest you need a quiet room, not one that is ever-changing with different noise.
