Fashion With Booties

November 24, 2014 By Dana Vento Leave a Comment

The seasons have changed not only outside but in my closet as well.  The darker colors of the winter season have taken over those brilliant summer choices that I have used for the season.  My display vault of clothing looks more like a dark sea that a bright flower garden.  Truth be told, it is hard to find those POPS of color for the winter, but I do use scarves to accentuate and often some nice tanks to add a bit of color and depth to the winter wardrobe that lacks color.  As for fun open-toed shoes, that season also have passed as if your shoes are open-toed at this point, you will be frost-bitten and frozen as the sleet, rain and snow have begun.  I am now fully indulged into the season of the bootie and I love those that offer a bit of character.  Sliding on a plain boot is just the same to me as wearing black on black, without life.  Slicing things up, I look for belts, buckles and some nice chunky heels that make a difference in how my foot looks and builds a bit of character for my outfit.  Lavishly liven up your wardrobe fashion with a great looking pair of booties to your shoe fashion wardrobe.

When I think about the booties I need to wear and where I need to wear them I buy with an objective in mind: the booties need to be wearable on a daily basis, or they need to take a dress pant to the next level.  If the bootie can meet both of those criteria they become a must-have.

This year, charcoal has been on my buy list a bit more often than not. I have seen charcoal a lot in previous years as choices for tees, and basic shirts but I have also found charcoal  in nice dress pants, as well as skirts, one-piece dresses and some very nice longer sweaters.

To celebrate the color charcoal, booties are a must as I have purchased skirts, dresses, shirts and sweaters and I want to pull my look altogether.  I don’t want a tall heel because some days I am in my shoes from 6A-6P and tall is not where it is at.  I want to be able to walk t the next day, so comfort is a must.

Jitter Charcoal Bootie

My booties selected for this particular set of outfits is from White Mountain Shoes.  The detail found on these ankle boots makes the difference in my outfit as well.  I love that there is a full slide zipper, as well as crisscross straps with buckle detail.

The heel is 1.5″  and the are the perfect choice for me because they elongate the leg, but don’t make walking award and cumbersome.  I can still stride with ease and not worry about tripping over myself.  The boot on the inside offers nothing but comfort. When you put your foot in, it is just comfortable, there is nothing painful, or hard on the inner-sole of the shoe.  When I put them on, I am set for the day, a full day, not just a few hours.

My jeans can loosely tuck into the bootie, or they can casually hang over the ankle boot, either look is perfectly acceptable.  The socks I put on can often hang over, and dress the boot down if I want a basic look.  The boot actually rocks a one piece sweater dress as well and they are a lot more comfortable than basic heels!.

Add a splash of Charcoal, black or brown  to your wardrobe this year, with a kickie pair of ankle boots from White Mountain Shoes.  These offer an up-to-date fashion with a bit of flair.  The buckles will add the bit of personality and style and let you dress up or dress down depending on the look you are seeking.  Lavishly live fashion out loud with a great new pair of booties this season.
