I honestly am super-impressed from a girl’s standpoint with the driving pleasure of a KIA SOUL. I love the fact the the vehicle is under $30K and tripped out with every feature you could want in a car. The drive in the car is smooth and the vehicle handles the road, and all the curves really well(trust me, I tried hugging the road).
Putting the KIA SOUL to the test!
One of my favorite roads is about 3 miles straight, with no stop signs, and it has dips, valleys and I can go the speed I want. I was going 70 at some points and 35 at others, and no matter the speed the performance on the vehicle was amazing. My kids loved the fact that the one point in the road was like a roller coaster that drops you and the SOUL let them feel their souls(LOL). As for the curves in the road, the car was manageable, held the road tight and the steering was easy.
IMPRESSIVE TOUCH SCREEN
Everything I need is at my fingertips from the steering wheel to the touch screen, I think this is so cool. I have a new car but placing a lot of the features on it made the SUV I drive way too name brand-priced and not consumer ideal, so knowing that you can have a great car with great features at a great price is pretty much a revelation to me! 2 suggestions for the Dream Team at KIA
SUGGESTION ONE:
I am used to having pedals that move to match my Petite stature but that was not available on this car. If it is available on other models I apologize for my ignorance, but if it is not, then please consider pedals that can move forward or backward by the touch of a button as I had to move the seat either too far up to the wheel but I could not put the seat up high enough to clear the side mirror in the car because then my feet were dangling. I am 5’2″ so that is not overly small but is was a challenge to get my foot to the pedal. My husband had made the same comment when he got in to drive and he is 6 feet tall, he wanted the seat back as far as possible and when that was maxxed out The pedals are placed far away and if I moved the seat up I felt like I was on top of the steering wheel.
SUGGESTION TWO:
The other side note are the side mirrors. Again, chalk this up to be only 5’2″ if you want, but because I could not position the seat up high enough or I could not reach the pedals my line of vision from the driver’s side mirror provided an ugly blind spot. I could not see through the mirror, over the mirror, or to the left of the mirror. As I sat in the driver’s seat, I was even with the side mirror, driver’s side and this left me unable to see anything going on the left hand side of the car that was even with the mirror. This situation is driven from the fact that if I pull the seat all the way up, I am too close to the wheel, but my feet are closer to the pedals, and if I up the height of the chair my feet get further from the pedals.(again, back to the pedal issue)
Take my suggestions as you may, I truly had no other asks. I loved the turning lane turn signal that with the touch of the signal it indicated turning for just a few seconds, enough to get in the other lane and I loved the control panel on my steering wheel. What an amazing product you have all created, from the fold down seats, to the gas mileage, KIA SOUL is a frugal deal on a name brand vehicle. What I have found is a brand name vehicle without the brand name pricing!
