Finding a great snack that is gluten free and at your fingertips is not always easy. The cost associated with great chocolate gob snacks is often price offensive. The Gluten Free foods are really expensive and buying ‘treats’ in addition to basic groceries can send your grocery bill skyrocketing over the top. There is a way to have great treats, and keep your grocery bill alive, kickin’ and not price offensive; simply make your own snacks. We have been testing out a bunch of recipes and sometimes they fail but more often than not we have success in subbing in ingredients and creating foods that look and taste close enough to those that have gluten in them. My son was the culprit this time that had me create this recipe. We were walking through a warehouse club and they were sampling chocolate clusters that looked like this, so naturally I had to make them for my daughter who was insanely jealous that there was nothing being offered for the gluten free crowd. What we created will have you licking your gluten free lips and waiting to indulge in more of this chocolate treat and the how-to is below in my recipe! Lavishly live gluten free chocolate clusters out loud with this divine recipe.
1/2 C each of all the following
Almonds In A Food Processor
Ground up GF Animal Cookies
GF Pretzels – Crumbled
Melted Chocolate (I used Velata)
Marshmallows (one handful)
Mix together and add melted chocolate, form into clusters and place on a plastic tray or dish and allow to cool, it is that simple
Here are a few photos that can show you what the ingredients looked like and my steps of mixing. It took me about 10 minutes total to prepare this snack. The largest time period was using the food processor to actually create the right size ingredient pieces that would make the cluster. We added a few marshmallows to add a little bit of a chew to the cluster, but either with or without the marshmallows this is a yummy cluster for those consuming gluten free diets or even if you just want a treat and are not gluten free.
