I can’t believe how time flies and hairstyles change and I change. A few years back, who would have thought about all the celebrities I have rubbed elbows with, photo’d with and spent time getting to know, all because I write. One of the coolest things I did at the beginning was meet and interview one-on-one Buddy Valastro, A.K.A. The Cake Boss, he brought a cake and his stories and we chatted for a while. Nerves had set in well and I don’t remember my feet touching the ground, but what I do remember is some of the best tasting cake, some of the nicest hospitality all set forth from Market District and Buddy Valastro as the Market District embraced its new community in the Township of Pine, Pennsylvania. Here’s my tale of meeting Buddy Valastro, tasting food and taking in all that the new store had to offer as I lavishly lived life out loud.
The Market District
The Market District has finally arrived in the North Hills and it is a huge celebration of food! I spent the day at the Market District in the Township of Pine and was provided a day of food, entertainment and food! The celebration continues through Sunday this weekend. A must do for family fun.
Gotta be honest here, I don’t even recognize myself in this photo! Buddy Valastro, Cake Boss prepared a cake dedicated to Pittsburgh, complete with working inclines and our rivers! Executive Chef John Gruver provided my husband and I a personal tour of the Market District.
The cake was display for the weekend. Live music filled the air, there were samples of Sushi, brownies, home made marshmallows, organic milk, cheddar cheese, fresh salami, pulled pork, sandwiches, tangerine/orange juice and so much more! All I can say is if you leave there hungry, you have really not seen and sampled everything there and it would be your own fault.
My kids wanted to see where Mom had met Cake Boss, so I took them back after school, and they got in on the action, jumping into this huge snow globe and I snapped a picture as any proud mom would!
I can tell you this one one of the first official interviews I did and it was amazing to get to have the chance to sit down and talk. Often you think celebrities won’t care to speak to you, but Buddy had a charisma about him, that was not only welcoming, but it just made you feel like you wanted to ask questions. He told story after story and he is nothing short of amazing. Read my interview with Buddy Valastro, The Cake Boss as I lavishly live food, shopping and cake out loud!
