After a day loaded with ATV riding, paintballing, and hiking Old Man’s Cave we were simply famished. We needed to refuel our bellies so we headed for the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge.
Hocking Hills Dining Lodge was a very close 1/4 mile drive from the Old Man’s Cave parking lot. Dress at this establishment is very casual as they know you have been taking in Old Man’s Cave, hiking and spending the day outdoors so keep the dress very relaxed.
There is indoor seating, outdoor seating, and a pool so if you wanted to go swimming you can, and it looked glorious, we just did not have the energy. The menu at the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge is fabulous and the food is delicious, as well as Allergen friendly.
Lavishly live travel to the Hocking Hills area in Ohio and join in on our dining experience at the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge.
Allergen Friendly
Naturally, as a mom of a child with severe food allergies, I am always preoccupied with the allergen friendly foods on the menu. I was quite relieved to learn that he actually could dine at the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge. They easily and happily accommodate those with food allergies.
We simply notified the chef and our server that my son had food allergies and he was taken care of for that evening. Just as a side note the fryer is a dedicated fryer so fries were an option!
Our Server
Our server was Tori and she took care of everything and made sure that we had constant refills on our beverages ( I think we drank all the tea and soda they had there). I highly suggest the sweet tea it was simply delicious. Thanks, Tori for your outstanding service with a smile all night long!
Starters
With hunger pangs ringing throughout all of our bellies we decided that we had to have the Ohio cheese fries. These were fries which were piled high, freshly cut and loaded with cheese and bacon and sour cream being topped off with some green onions.
We also had a request in our group for the garlic cheese bread strips. These smelled and tasted so delicious. These were fresh dough it was top with garlic extra-virgin olive oil as well as mozzarella and provolone and then it was cut into small strips we devoured the entire platter
Meals
What do you feed to the troops that are really really hungry after a full day of activities? We quickly figured this out. Everything we saw whisking past us on trays looked yummy so we just ordered. I was so happy to see pizza as was my youngest.
Brisket
Woodfired and slow smoked brisket was placed the top of the toasted brioche bun and a side of sauce and fries. My son gobbled this up it was delicious and perfect and the portion was perfect because he was starving.
Pizza
My youngest and I each ordered a 10-inch pizza each of them was top with fresh mozzarella and provolone. I elected to have the margarita pizza with fresh tomato slices and basil. He had a standard cheese pizza. Both are equally divine.
Side salads
We decided we needed a salad because you can see we hadn’t eaten enough at this point and we were starving so adding on a side salad was no big deal. The salads were simply delicious they were served in the perfect size bowl in the balsamic dressing topped it perfectly not too much not too little and the lettuce was really fresh.
Dessert
Unfortunately, we were too full to indulge in the desert but we kept seeing these huge cookies stuff with ice cream going by and if we could fit it in our bellies we would have.
What is most impressive about the hocking hills dining lodge is the fact that the pricing is so family reasonable. We had this entire meal for $50 and it was a ton of food which is almost unheard of when it comes to dining out.
Possible WiFi Service Here
There is Wi-Fi service available, it is intermittent, but at least you have some form of communication which you may not have experienced previously in the day. So note this is a place to grab Wi-Fi when in hocking hills.
With so many people on and off the WiFi, you can use your phone more like an iPod but at least we could get a few texts out to our family at home, letting them know we survived the day.
We truly thank Hocking Hills Dining Lodge for such a great meal, and for providing an Allergen-Friendly dining location. My son got to enjoy french fries, did not worry about the nuts, or seafood contamination or even latex so we had a great night dining eating any terrific dining spot in Hocking Hills, Ohio.
