Snacking Needs Of Teens
Life passes so fast, it seems like yesterday that my teen was in my arms and being carried everywhere. I would pack snacks in my bag, purse or whatever I was toting and after he ate what I had with me, he was satisfied. Today, my teen who used to be my ‘baby’ has an increased appetite and a very big schedule which keeps us on the go. I have to keep up with his need to feed. My challenge has become how to satisfy teens growing hunger while being on the go!
A Letter To My Teen
So many life experiences have passed us by but no matter what life hands him I have learned how my teen is crushing it. He is amazing, always smiling and lets nothing stand in his way. His fearless take on experiences makes him ready to take on the world. In so many ways my teen approaches things the way I wish I could but he does it so much better. This letter explains his life just a bit, and all the forces that attempt to drag him down, and at the end, I will SHARE my snack secret with you, that is allergen friendly and really fills him up!
You are this little light that shines on no matter what the day brings, no matter what the experience. Your spirit glides effortlessly through the drudges of a bad day or a few bad ones.
Your sportsmanship on ice defines you as a person both off and on the ice. From the disappointment of having a goal waved off, to the irritation of bad sportsmanship on other teams, you don’t lose your cool, you ice the feelings. I don’t know how you do it, but you let nothing have an impact, as you shake it all off.
Your smile is infectious, your grace in dealing with situations offers a calm demeanor to what could go wrong so fast. From health conditions we have been unable to control, weeks of illness, months of debilitating asthmatic coughs and the inability to consume so many foods that others enjoy… there is just no stopping your vibrant.
Some of the biggest disappointments have been set in front of you from team sports to life and you have never let it take the light of your candle out, and that is just amazing. The smile on your face, the songs that you sing (when you are being silly), the jokes that you tell all are a reminder to me to live life a little lighter than I do. While I may never be the person that light-hearted, positive person you are, please never stop, keep on moving and Go Big, because that is who you are.

Here’s what we have found.
- Within each box are 5 super fiber bars of 100% natural goodness. The unique chocolate-like shape, the moist texture and delicious flavors of the chia bars are specially made for our kid’s enjoyment.
- The bars come in two versions, the Blueberry & Carrot flavor, and the Raspberry & Red Beet flavor, nutritious snacks with healthy and soothing properties.
- These bars combine protein-rich Chia grains with other natural ingredients such as oats, chicory root, fruits and vegetables, all top-quality sources of Prebiotic dietary fibers and antioxidants parents should want for healthier kids.
- No added sugars (all sweetness comes from fruits), non-GMO, no gluten, dairy, synthetic colors or flavors
- There are no nuts, no fish and they taste great (yes I snagged one)*
What I Have Done
I was looking for a bar my son could actually EAT, without latex fruits (pears, kiwi, pepper, bananas, pineapple, etc) and without fish, or nuts, these are perfect. In fact, because they are made with foods he CAN have he is indulging in 2 a day. The current packaging is more for kids 2-12, he is a new teen and needs a tad more. Eating 2 bars, he feels satisfied and loves the ‘chewiness’ I love the CHIA factor CHIA seeds offer the highest levels of omega-3 fatty acids among all the plant sourced foods.
All you will find in my bag are these vivaNUTRITION products in both flavors. Healthy snacking that fills up that hunger pit in the bellies of teens. Allergen friendly bars that my son can enjoy are news I just had to share!
