LIFESTYLE CHANGE

I think back to a few years ago and My weight and body were in a very dark, bad place. I was grasping at straws and trying to figure out how to get my ‘crap’ together because the body I was in was not my body, but one that had become over-sized and quite honestly unwelcome. As I speak with all my friends, we have all been there one time or another, but some of us are must a bit more verbal about how upset we are with our bodies(me!!!)

Are you desperate to rid inches off of your body and become more energized? If you have tried and they pounds and inches just won’t go, maybe it’s time to try something new.  I kept trying until I found success.   I would love to share with you what I have found and been religiously following for 4+ years now.  While I have altered what I began with to mostly vegetarian, I can tell you this book was my savior, my light, my inspiration and a great way to begin body cleansing and rebirth of a new me.  It is not a diet, it is a lifestyle, but you have to make a few decisions about your eating; a) can I eat more veggies? b) do I love vegetables, grains, etc?  c) can I give up meat?  If you can, you are on the right path.

The book The Kind Diet: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight, and Saving the Planet was my springboard.  I decided that I was going to make a change and change I did, through pounds, inches and a new mental outlook, I began changing  day by day and step by step.  There is no short path to weight loss, but I decided that I was going to lose the weight and I did.  The book and the website will lead you to a path you can follow, and from there you pick and choose foods that sound ultra interesting.  I cook for my family and I cook for myself, but I always have my food on hand, so I don’t munch on the wrong items.

You can make all the changes, incrementally, or you can go into this full force, but I can tell you this, you will see results, if you stay on the path and follow the rules of steaming, using veggies, proper grains, and you will feel good too, I personally have never been healthier!

In reading Alicia’s book, you can see how to start this diet and the core reasons for the diet (some of which you may not agree with) and if you want to cook some of the foods to find out if you can actually tolerate them, you can utilize her blog, because so many recipes are posted there.  Whether you use the blog or read the book, you will learn a lot about food you put into your mouth and how it affects your body.  It is incredible!

If you are thinking this is not a good diet, I can tell you every reason it is better than you might think.  Meat, is a no-brainer when it comes to dumping it out of your life.    There are so many things you eat and are not good for you, trust me, follow the changes in this program, incorporate change into your life, and YOU WILL LOSE the weight.  Inches, pounds, sizes, and it will stay OFF. You do not have to be a COOK or even good at cooking to do this life change.  Meat is the devil and everything about it is bad, including the fact that it takes 4 days to eek itself through your digestive tract.  That is extra weight and garbage you are carrying in your system that you don’t need!

I will tell you that once you catch the hang of how to do this lifestyle change, there is simply no going back and I never have wanted for any food that I personally could not create a great ‘mock-up’ of!  Unlike the South Beach Diet which left you craving carbs, and Weight Watchers that really fails to fulfill eating, you will eat foods that are super palatable and interesting to your taste buds.  I am certain that the food changes you will make will be pleasurable, and will leave you satisfied as I have been eating them and I am rather picky after having tried so many different lifestyle changes.

The dishes being prepared are those that are being prepared in some of the most chic restaurants around the United States, not only are they palatable but they are satisfying and easy to prepare.  I use so many of them in my life.  The key to success is always having something prepared that fits the lifestyle and that will make it manageable.

Give it a try, but you do have to commit, and you might take a little weight off! 2 years later, I am 40+ pounds lighter, healthier, clothing sizes that I haven’t seen in years, and more, I can really taste foods, and my sense of smell is off the charts! Cleaning the body out, does the body good. Lavishly live life out loud, enjoy a new you, and learn a bunch of great new recipes! Food Never looked so good!
