What a day for baking today! My day has been so darn busy that I really never thought I could make a cake, but them I remembered that I really did not have to put too much effort into baking if I prepared a dump cake. Here’s my story of lavishly living the prep of a Maple Brown Sugar Blueberry Dump Cake out loud! Dump Cakes are easy because you are pretty much just dumping into a pan ingredients you already have and there is literally no mixing, making the ease of preparation under five minutes!
Maple Brown Sugar Blueberry Dump Cake
I headed to my food pantry to see what items I had in it, because after I looked in our fridge I knew I had to make something with berries in it. I did not have a ton of berries, but I had a few raspberries just sitting there and some strawberries, but not enough to really do much else with than combine! My pantry had a lot of things in it, and the two items that really shined were blueberry pie filling and a boxed cake that was Maple Brown Sugar. A while back I had done a baking segment and I really bought too many cake mixes so this was the perfect time to use this one up.
How To Make A Maple Brown Blueberry Dump Cake
1 15 ounce box of your choice cake mix (you can use any cake mix you want, I happened to use this flavor)
1 can 20 ounces Pie Filling I used blueberries
1/2 Cup Butter cut into slices
1 Cup Fresh Berries – cleaned and sliced
Spray the bottom of a 13″x9″ baking pan with nonstick baking spray. Then spread the pie filling across the bottom of the pan.
Then add your fresh fruit and sprinkle the entire moist contents with the cake mix. It will look like this if you have done it right.
Now that you have the filling covered, and the cake mix on it, it is time to place the butter pats across the top. I did it this way.
Once it is complete simply bake at 350 Degrees F for 45-50 minutes until it is golden brown! You will have 12 to 16 delicious servings from this mixture. There is nothing like a fresh-made baked good in the house and this is so easy to make, yet let’s your family lavishly live food out loud!
