**This is NOT a Sponsored Post**This post is consumer education to help out families traveling year round!
Do your kids flat out pass out in the car after a night of visiting your aunt’s, uncles, cousins, and family?
After we spend the night at our family my kids look a lot like this, exhausted!
The car ride becomes the most pleasurable part of the trip as they sleep off their tiredness and that is not a fun way to spend the holidays.
Do you travel for the holidays? A lot of us travel around to see our relatives but sometimes a good night sleep beats a free night of sleep!
If you are a parent you know how great it is to visit Aunt Betsy, but the twin beds and breezy rooms that used to add charm to your visit are suddenly too compact to accommodate your family.
Your kids have grown, and what used to be one room spacious is now nothing short of cramped.
The breeze that passes on those hard wood floors or the cold air that creeps in through the windows that once used to mean snuggle up with your partner now only means bundle up because kids are in the room!
The hard wood floors kill your backs and no one is rested so when you wake up the next day to hang out as a family, misery sets in and the visit is ruined!
Trust me, Aunt Betsy will love your visit more if you stay out of her house and let that room that you used to rest in serve as a room for the kids to escape to while you all catch up!

Cat Cora’s Very Merry Holiday Pasta
Serves 4-6
3 tablespoons olive oil
8 ounces turkey or chicken sausage, diced
2 tablespoons garlic, minced
1 pound orecchiette
1 cup of white wine
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 cup chicken stock
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Salt and pepper, to taste
½ cup parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon fresh sage, thin sliced
Boil water for pasta in a pasta pot, fitted with a strainer. Add the fresh orecchiette pasta to boiling water, cook until al dente, about 5 minutes. Set aside. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add turkey or chicken sausage and saute for 3-4 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside. Add garlic into the pan, and sauté for 2 minutes, stirring continuously. Add white wine and reduce heat by half. Add in chicken stock, canned pumpkin, heavy cream and cinnamon. Stir until well mixed. Add the turkey or chicken sausage to the sauce and simmer for 10 minutes. Add the cooked orecchiette pasta and toss. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer to a warm platter or bowls, top with parmesan cheese and fresh sage.
See you at a Residence Inn!
