I literally can’t remember the last time I claimed ME time, let alone MomMe time for fitness. Life and I have gone around the block a few times, but my ambition to look good, feel great and really put myself out there reminds me daily that the first “M” in MOM is for ME time. At 5’2″ I am a small force and I am petite framed, but I am pushing petite over the edge and starting to qualify as pleasantly plump. Over the last few years I have lost lots of weight, but it is a long road ahead to get to where I want to be, even though I have left a long road behind. When you are unhappy with yourself, the world is a less kind place. Rather than being secure in my own frame, and owning my persona, I kind of lollygag back and forth between who I am and who I want to be.
Representation of a fitness brand seems a very natural fit for me, as I tout a lot of products, however it is only those I have personally tested and use in my own life. I have very healthy eating habits, and I hydrate well, but a regimented at-home fitness program has not been at the top of my list. What you have come to know from me is that I have a love of shopping, fashion, and more, but you may not know the personal weight battle I wage daily. As I often feel like a liaison between brands and the consumer, I also own that responsibility to all of my readers and followers and take it very seriously.
When I choose to align with a brand, product and company I make so sure that the products deliver big in some aspect of my life or I don’t shout it out from the rooftops. In Pittsburgh, I don’t think everyone really has the inside track on where to buy the best at-home fitness equipment, but I do. My personal want to instill MomME time back into my life has gone OFF THE CHAIN, IN fact, I love the Company that I found so much that when offered the opportunity to be a brand ambassador and share my personal triumphs and mishaps with you in at-home-fitness I literally morphed into my athletic shoes. Who am I getting all sweaty and worked out over? G&G Fitness in the Pittsburgh Area. Their selection for the premiere at-home gym equipment makes the difference in getting fit for life and letting fitness fit into your life. If you are a mom, and you want to be able to work out at home, look great, feel great and really understand the equipment you are about to invest in, you want to read this post. My favorite phrase right now is from Mel B of America’s Got Talent, “Off The Chain!” meaning, “a great deal of fun!” and with the new plan I have, getting Off The Chain is possible.
Pictures Don’t Lie & I Am Not Off The Chain Thrilled With Self
Last month I met up with Melanie, we were both at an event, and I have to say the photo was very telling: there was Mel and then there was me and I felt like a monster next to her.
How did this happen? I mean, my treadmill had only been broken a few months? My workouts had stopped and I had not done many appearances over the last few months so I guess I was letting myself go? The picture was worth more to me than a mirror because I have done nothing but reflect on what I have changed to from lazy habits.
MomMe Time – Where is it?
Let’s not put all the blame on lazy habits, but also place a bit of it on being a MOM with three kids who have demanding schedules. Their schedules often supersede anything I have planned as I have not been putting the ME in MOMME. Like many of you out there, my most important job is being MOM. My kids range in age from elementary school to high school and their schedules drive my life and everything else takes a back seat—-life just gets ahead of me. It’s amazing to me that I can begin a day at 5:30A and still not get everything squeezed into my day because somehow 11P (my bedtime) sneaks up on me. I constantly neglect my own needs in order to perpetuate their livelihood forgetting that without feeling well myself, no one is going to have a great time anywhere as I am the central core of their lives.
The Plan: To Be Off The Chain With Fitness
It was time to get serious about me again. I refuse to have weight in my chest, stomach and thighs, not only does it drag my self esteem down, it is never how I was, so it is not doing to be how I am now. I will define my path, I will simply not let my life take over the path. My decision to get back into the groove led me to wanting to reinvest in at-home fitness equipment. You have to understand, that about 6 years ago, the people I had known, started telling me I was ‘fat’ and while I really did not appreciate their comments, I looked in the mirror and said, “I am going to make a change!” These people all lived in our neighborhood and barely knew me, but the person they had met a year before had gained a lot of weight so they comments were flying. Now, I don’t want to exercise outside, nor do I want bothered by any of their comments so working out has become a very personal issues, and at-home fitness, in the privacy of my house is what I crave.
The Investigation for MomMe Time
I began investigating sites, equipment, people and who’s who in the fitness world,. After a few searches of no-name companies, with pretty much no Clout behind them, and after a great GOOGLE Cocktail of words I found G&G Fitness, right in my own neighborhood. It might surprise you to now that the people that run G&G are actual, true-to-life, hard-core athletes and in fact they have even played for the NFL. They get that equipment has to go the long mile when we, as moms invest in it. I think what is even more amazing is when you talk to Ken, he can totally relate to the, “exercise is personal, I don’t want my neighbors seeing me workout” or, that “I don’t need people knowing I gained a few and have to train a bit harder, I just want to be able to exercise in my home!” G&G Fitness gets it, and they have everything from Kettlebells to Elliptical for moms that want to stay at home and get back into shape.
At Home Fitness Can Be Off The Chain & Perfect for MomMe Time
Purchasing at home fitness equipment is hardly a small consideration. Somewhere along the shopping process the guys in our lives get involved and before you now it, the conversation switches from what we want to what makes sense financially. Alternatively, suddenly the silent partner(the guys) that never worked out at home wants to use the new equipment because it would just be so much easier so now you have a purchasing partner. Generally this is where the process of purchasing changes. See guys want to use the equipment and you might have been after a basic piece, now suddenly it is bells, whistles and a purchase changes from basic to a bit more intense.
You might have been shopping at warehouse clubs to buy fitness pieces and now there is no way those are acceptable because they are no heavy duty enough. I won’t buy my equipment from a warehouse or a basic retail store, the staff does not have the knowledge of fitness that is needed to help you make an informed decision, they are just trained to sell. So where can you go in Pittsburgh to find commercial grade fitness equipment that can be used for at home fitness to fit MomMe time as well as guy time? G&G Fitness.
At home gym equipment is not a small purchase; there is a significant financial investment that comes with it. While it may be placed on the most basic of cement floors, the investment is not just in the equipment, it’s in you, so purchasing a piece of equipment, like a treadmill, elliptical or bike needs to come from a place that is knowledgeable, provides name brand equipment and actually KNOWS what they are selling you.
I have chosen to align my brand touting with G&G Fitness, because they have a command of the industry, first-hand knowledge of all products and are considered the premier source when it comes to fitness solutions. As I previously mentioned, I only write passionately about things I use, and believe in, and my personal health and fitness are things I can talk the talk on, and walk the walk. G&G Fitness can answer the talk by telling me everything I need to know about the equipment I am getting and they walk the walk by employing those that use, know and work with the brands. The owners are sports gurus and use the equipment they sell. What the store offers (both online and in the traditional brick and mortar), is what EVERY mom, out there will love, HOME gym equipment, so you can burn, build and make a difference in who you are, without the rest of the world knowing.
As a mom, I have a certain level of pride, and I don’t want my neighbors seeing me workout, or know that I am battling that extra weight; it just is a very personal issue. Just like any other mom out there, the time that I have available to work out, is minimal, but since the equipment from G&G Fitness is in my home I can make even my most crazy days work for me. I can workout when it is convenient for me.
My goal on my work-together with G&G Fitness is to lose the mid-section that seems to want to celebrate its existence in every piece of clothing I wear. I also want to make a difference in my chest and arms because for some reason those areas are just packing on the pounds. Losing weight will feel great, but gaining strength and endurance are even better. The staff is already working with me, understanding my needs, my limits, and figuring out what equipment will fit into my crazy life.
It looks like our crazy adventure together will allow me to show you my ups, downs, exercise, and triumphs. The equipment I will be using is available to every mom out there, and will work in your home, just like it works in mine. Rather than using a treadmill this time, I have decided to get Elliptical with it, and with an Octane Q37XI to be specific—- the one Oprah touts as revolutionary. IN addition to the cardio on the elliptical I am working out with Kettlebells, Medicine Balls, hand-weights and tension pulls. Lavishly live MomMe Time Fitness out loud as I have an Off The Chain experience with at-home fitness.
