A REVERSIBLE CUTTING BOARD, BUILT TO LAST A LIFETIME! JOHN BOOS
Newton Prep Master board w/ SS pan. The board reverses and you can use the pan on both sides for different purposes.
There is nothing more calming to me than cooking, because I am in complete control of timing, taste and the end product! Yes I am a bit of a control freak but I love the kitchen, cooking and food prep! I love being able to cut food into tiny little pieces and often the more your cut something up, the more intense and bold the flavor becomes, so I cut and cut! A while back we owned a restaurant/catering business and I loved every minute of it, the hustle and bustle and the Food Preparation. I miss my huge professional kitchen and the walk-in coolers and so many of the tools of the trade which I don’t have in my regular everyday kitchen!
Cooking means chopping, cutting, kneading and creating and a good Butcher’s Block can make the difference in prep from chopping the ingredients to getting the final product ready and John Boos Newton Prep Master board with a Stainless Steel Pan is making a difference in my kitchen. You can see my quick video here.
The Butcher’s Block Newton Prep Master with a Stainless Steel Board allows me the versatility of cutting on one side for items that drip, or run(like meat, watery veggies, etc) and the grace of slanted juice grooves that run into a stainless steel drip pan!
Now we used this throughout the holiday season but it was great for pork & sauerkraut which is the traditional new year’s dinner! Here is one of the pieces of meat my husband cut on the board! Then things got really messy, and the drip pan took care of everything! (sauerkraut juice:)
Before we even got near a dinner table, the Newton Prep Board was used for cheese, crackers and pretzels. The Stainless Steel Pan lent itself well to holding the crackers and pretzels while the board made a great presentation of food! When we were done, I simply wiped the board off and changed sides. We then used the board to cut the meat that we were serving to our family.
What I really like is the thickness of the board, the quality and the solidness of the board. You do have to oil the board because all cutting boards have to be oiled every 2-3 weeks to keep them from drying out. If they dry out too much they have potential to crack. We oiled ours before we ever used it and it also makes it feel smoother!
Let me tell you a little about the board.
The board is made in the U.S.A of Hard Rock Maple and it is reversible. You can cut on one side of the block and it has slanted grooves which carry the juices to a stainless steel drip pan! The pan is easily removable and is a snap to sanitize! If you prefer, you can use the board on the flip side as preparation tray for cutting veggies and sliding them into the stainless steel pan and continue on cutting more and more! The Stainless Steel tray is 5 3/4” x 8 1/2” x 1 1/8”. The board is SAFE for ALL food preparations and it is build on 125 years of know how and fine craftsmanship!
Boos Block Board Cream is what is used to keep the board in great shape. It is simple and takes minutes about 10, from start to finish. You simply open the cream up and make an ‘s’ shape on the board, and rub it in with your hands or with a soft disposable cloth. After you let the cream sit on for about 10 minutes you can wipe off the excess with a disposable cloth and you are set to chop!
Curious on how to oil your board? We were too, so we watched this short video which offers great insight.
We are loving our board because of the durability, and versatility it offers. You can go from chopping veggies to carving meat, just by flipping your board! The John Boos Board Cream will keep your board in great shape for years to come! This should be a piece you can hand down from generation to generation if you care for it! It after all has been crafted with 125 years of knowledge, and it is solid! We give this product 2 thumbs up because it is so versatile and so well-crafted. Thanks to John Boos for this wonderful product that graces my kitchen! I feel like I am back in a professional kitchen with the use of this great board!
