Healthy and creative cooking is often what I boast, as I dig in deep, dish out recipes that my family loves and then figure out how to make each one a bit healthier. With each different recipe I prepare, I am always looking for a way to bulk up the recipe, or add a change, after all the art of cooking is based on change, and while traditional is great, I like to bust the mold and try new! I am a Ninja Master in my kitchen, as I use one of my Ninja’s each day to perform some wonderfully whimsical creations that offer a healthy presentation of fruits, and vegetables to my family. Many times the Ninja has offered me new options for getting creative with food, like making pepperoni minced and helping me out with ice when I needed it crushed in seconds, but the latest Nutri Ninja 2-in-1 that I have been testing me out is truly revolutionary and a must for anyone who bakes, or cooks, this Ninja is not just about the smoothie! Lavishly live food and food prep out loud with the Nutri Ninja 2-in-1.
Nutri Ninja 2-in-1
What is different about this Ninja from the others I have discussed? This particular Ninja, the Nutri Ninja has a base(Power Pod) that is sometimes on the bottom or sometimes on the top, depending which of the 2 food cup processor constainers you are using. When you are making a smoothie or something of the like, the shake cup will be on top and the Power Pod on the bottom. Whereas, when you are mixing dough, creating crumbs, etc. you will have the Power Pod on top of the Ninja and press down to make it go on the green pad.
In order to make a smoothie, you put your contents of choice into the cup(16 oz) and then place the lid on the cup. Place the Cup down on the Power Pod and press on the top of the cup with the palm of your hand and a few seconds later you have a smoothie.
Watch my video for how slick this Nutri Ninja 2-in-1 Works.
If you want to process food, like dough, yeast, cookies, or even take cookies to crumbs for crust, simply use the 40 Oz Processor bowl, this is just slick. You place everything in the process and put the lid on. On top of the lid you place the Power Pod and you simply press down to activate the pulse motor technology. The Pulse technology offers quick bursts of power allowing you to process the consistency of the food how you want it. Chop, or mix as you want the inside contents to appear, it is all in how much you press the pulse button. Pressing the Pulse Tech button more, means smoother, food, and less more chunky, it is that easy and effortless.
I have processed crumbs for a cookie base crust in seconds and it would have taken minutes to do such with a rolling pin in a plastic bag not to mention the mess!
Here’s a few things you really want to know about making smoothies, that I have found making them daily for my daughter:
a) ice needs to be used which will create a bit of thickness as well.
b) using frozen ingredients keeps things thicker and cooler(we always freezer older fruits and veggies to have them on hand)
c) You will need some water in the mix, or milk, etc to thing it down.(coconut water works well and gives a delectable flavor)
d) unsweetened is always better, but if you want to sweeten add a dash of almond milk
What items have I used in the 40 zo All-In-One Bowl for food processing? I have placed pepperoni and dried beef, each of which bulked up and was minced, making it easier to use in recipes. I have crushed graham crackers, vanilla wafers, and multiple other cookies that I used for crusts. I have processed tomatoes, celery, carrots and onions and every time the consistency is perfect as well as effortless.
I do want to lend caution to the fact that the blades are very sharp and will easily cut you when washing if mishandled so do pay close attention to the blades. I also hand-wash my set, to make sure that everything is sanitized properly.
