I don’t know about any of you guys, but, it takes me a solid 20-30 minutes to get ready in the morning and that’s just in makeup! Being a girl, especially a teenage girl, you have a lot of pressure on you to look good all the time, and quote on quote be “pulled together”. I am all for sweatpants and no makeup 99.9% of the days I wake up in the morning, that’s me living life lavishly, but that just can’t happen all the time. So instead of looking at my makeup as a hassle, like I used to, I now totally 100% love doing my makeup… and you’ll never guess why.
My daily makeup routine is pretty simple, I don’t normally wear foundation on a daily basis, just because it takes up a lot of time to get it to set the exact way I want it, so I sort of just use my favorite powder on my face and a little concealer under my eyes and on my hyper-pigmentation’s and I’m done with that area.
My favorite part of my face to put makeup on, though, has to be my eyes. There is SO much you can do with them, and that’s the fun part! Although, I never really go outside of my comfort zone when I am doing my makeup for school, the worst part about doing my eyes, no matter what color eye shadow I put on my lids, is my eyeliner.
Eyeliner can be so tricky (and devious). Most of the time, for me anyways, my eyeliner skills are pretty…well…awful. It takes FOREVER to get the perfect line or winged line and the reality of it is, none of us really have all that much time to sit there and mess with it. That’s why I am really excited to share my find with you all!
NYC has a new collection of velvet eyeliners that make using eyeliner a TON easier. When my mom showed me that they had sent her a sample for me to try I was quite excited. My personal favorite is the shade Black Velvet. This eyeliner along with a few others are a part of the new Show time collection and my experience with these eyeliners have been nothing short of a delight. They’re super velvet-y smooth so you don’t have to worry about your eyeliner being rough and uneven because they go on great. Also, they go on quickly and effectively however you want them. For example, if you want a thin smooth line, it goes on just the way you want it, with intense smooth-ness you almost wont believe it ( really I’m not kidding, I’m totally impressed) and the best part?! You can even smudge them to create a nice smokey eye. ( as you can tell by my pictures I had way too much fun doing this)
Eyeliner can be tricky, but it doesn’t have to be, thanks to NYC. This is how I lavishly live makeup out loud. Happy lining 😉
