One of the most important parts of a trip, is of course REST and relaxation, because no matter how much you take on during the day, you simply need to refuel. I love tons of pillows, clean beds, clean crisp sheets that offer a soft touch and clean sink tops and toilets. Remember, I am a little clean crazy, if you remember I travel with disinfectant wipes, and have issues with sleeping anywhere but home. However, when it comes to mini trips, I continuously seek out nice lodging, including with kids, because if you have them, you understand they like to pretend wherever you are is home: shoes off, relaxing on TOP of the bed, and under the covers, and just flopping anywhere. I don’t want to bring home germs I did not bring with me, so I am fanatical about this. Funny as this may sound, it makes the pairing up with The Residence Inn quite a harmonious match for both my brand and theirs as they boast clean, comfortable spaces that let kids be kids and adults relax. I don’t have to crack out the wipes and I certainly never worry about cleanliness as The Residence Inn by Marriott is super clean and allows me to rest! There is no difference to me whether I am traveling for work or for family fun, clean is clean and comfortable is comfortable and it is necessary. Now, as I lay me down to sleep, and the kids I love the multiple pillows, soft clean sheets and different ways to light the rooms(for the kids, lol!). Lavishly live travel out loud as we take a peek into what I will call Pillow Talk with the Residence Inn by Marriott.
Pillow Talk- Bed Time
So, all charged up from a trip, it was time to take the rev out of our ignition, but for some of us, that was not happening. My youngest was so excited we were staying IN THE CITY of Columbus, “Downtown” that he wanted to take in the ambiance as long as he could, fighting sleep till late. He watched couples walking down the street, the street lights turn off, cars going, building lights, windows, as much of the skyline as possible and he all of us sleep as well, lol! Finally, at some point he settled down because, he opened the sheers and let the city lights shine on in, rather than leaving lights on throughout the rooms.
Pillow Talk – Lighting
As I mentioned, this was a different Residence Inn by Marriott that we were staying in, it was in Downtown Columbus, so we had a great new setup for lighting, it was called: letting the beautiful cityscape lighting shine on into our room. My son loved that we were up close to the marquee sign that touted the Residence Inn. He was enamored because he had never been that close to a sign before and he could ‘almost touch it’. I liked opening the sheers because the light was enough to light the rooms, but not so much that I could not sleep, in fact, it was great so we did not have to leave lights on as the kids often do when we stay away from home.
Other Pillow Talk
As my daughter had the other room, she was totally comfortable in the mounds of pillows, soft covers and great mattress! She was engulfed in warmth. See the body in the bed, that’s her all snuggled and gone for the night!
After a very rested night, we are ready for a very busy day! Lavishly living travel out loud, staying at The Residence Inn by Marriott, Downtown, Columbus, this is Dana!
