I have a few rules to help you move through a wine tasting event so that you enjoy the day as much as possible. Lavishly live life out loud use my rules for wine tasting, and see what is up and coming in the upcoming wine tasting event in Pittsburgh.
Wine Tasting In Pittsburgh
Get ready for a fun experience ladies, and yes you can bring the guys, but I think you might want to leave them at home and grab an UBER! It’s our turn to get out, shop, and enjoy Wine and Whiskey at our on pace. You will have plenty of company and gal pals as ladies from ALL OVER the Burgh’ will be joining in for this fun. Get ready for Women Wine & Whiskey at the David Lawrence Convention Center, in Pittsburgh and you can get tickets ahead of the upcoming Event.
Here’s What I Know
Travel, booth to booth, sampling wines that meet your palate. In fact, most booths offer up to 5 – 1-ounce samples. If you love dry wines you will find them and if you love sweet wines you will taste plenty of those as well.
In fact, there are wines made with honey, blueberries, peaches, raspberries and way to mix wines you have never thought of. The grand thing about this event if that you will learn a few tricks as well.
Ask which wines combine to make some of the wineries blends you might just be surprised. Try the wines separate and together having the vendor mix them for you.
If you find a blend you like, chances are you can buy 2 of the bottles to make it!
Mind Your P’s and Q’s While Sampling
Do know that plenty of us like our WINE, but don’t push and shove, the vendors are there for many hours and you can enjoy your wine at your own pace. If a wine tasting booth is FILLED, walk to a different booth, and then return to the line you were in.

Don’t discount any flavor, try it, the vendors are happy to let you sample many, and we did. This particular vendor was one of the most friendly and outgoing vendors and super knowledgeable about his product. As a result his product was moving fast.
Many wineries offer fun flavors like Sangria, Chocolate, Peaches, and Raspberries, read EACH Card that is with the vendor to make the best use of your time.
There are washout spots along the way to rinse your glass, this will help you NOT carry over the flavor from the last vendor and to be able to really experience the taste-testing.
A vendor knows those that are there to buy, versus those that are there for a party, so try the most important flavors, make your purchase and THEN try the others that you might like to ‘dabble’into. I was pleasantly surprised with a CHOCOLATE wine we found today.
If You Like A Wine
Please don’t taste a wine, like it and not buy it, because chances are the vendors run out as the day progresses. Good wine goes fast and we tried and bought many so you don’t let your favorite ‘wait’ for you to buy it, get it while you are with the vendor before some else gets YOUR cork:)
Don’t Carry You Wine
We loved being able to not carry our wine around as we went because there was a WINE check in that you picked it up on the way out.
RIDES
Remember, there are multiple vendors, most offering at least 5 samples each at one ounce each, and you drink and go. Arrange for a ride before you get back into that car, because you will be feeling the wine:) — (experience talking). This is all about the fun so keep it safe and enjoy the day the way it was meant to be. The tickets are sold ahead online, as they do for every event, my suggestion is to buy them ahead and have fun.
