Products have been provided by PR Firm however, thoughts, and images are mine
Clearly not the best photo I have ever taken, but something happened when I was shopping in IKEA, the sun came out in Pittsburgh, lol! It can be a rarity to see that sun shining so while the photo is not great, you can find this little IKEA FAMILY Kiosk right when you walk into the lower level of IKEA Pittsburgh and probably at the same location nationwide(IKEA Keeps things simple). September with IKEA Family has some great specials at 20% Off prices if you are an IKEA FAMILY member(it’s free to join) so I headed out to the store to shop for some sustainable, reusable containers, cups, lunch products and of course thermoses. Containers for lunch are extremely important to one member of my family who has severe food allergies and everything in my cabinets really needs updated, my answer to this was IKEA. I love IKEA Housewares. Here’s my new fall tale of Adventure. Eat. DIY. Repeat. restocking my kitchen with sustainable products that let me pack up foods and beverages, no matter where we go!
Where did the time go, summer has passed, and the earth has settled a little beneath my feet because the back-to-school shuffle has passed on by. The summer bounty of fresh veggies has not stopped coming on in and I find so many great foods at the store in the produce aisle I just can’t hold back from buying it and then of course preparing it. The difference however in my home between summer cooking and fall cooking is that my captive audience, those who eat round the clock are not available, because they are in school. I love preparing fresh salads and my son with severe food allergies takes salads in his lunch daily, but the struggle to find a container that does not leak or mix things in before he is ready is often tough! This BLANDNING
See that little container sitting inside the big one? Perfect for croutons or salad dressing and if you look at the next picture you are going to see that there is a fork and a knife that lock right into the little X so you always have sturdy, washable, reusable utensils with you!
Packing that salad or chili with all the fixings is now super easy! Look for the BLANDNING in your local IKEA as to the end of the month it is 20% off it’s retail price if you are an IKEA FAMILY Member! Woot Woot. Sustainable, reusable and on sale, shopping sassy!
How do you tote your foods around in fashion? I like making statements with everything that I use and I personally love color. The ERFORDERLIG lunch bag lets me transport snacks in the car, or to school or to meetings with ease and when I am done with it, I wipe it out for the next use(reusable, sustainable) and it flattens down to the size of a flat paper lunch bag! My bag however is cooler than any lunch brown bag because it is reusable!
My husband’s coffee mug looked like it had been through the war and back, battered, and beat up. Seriously the cup is so gross I won’t even photo it, so it was time for a new tumbler. Look at what I found on sale, again 20% off in September and in the IKEA Housewares section!
Here’s an interesting little travel tip: When you stop for coffee and your kids are in the car, the stop is never just for coffee it is suddenly, donuts, coffee, juice, breakfast sandwiches etc. Do this 2x in a week with 3 people in the car and I bet you will spend over $15 each time. Now, consider investing in a tumbler for your coffee(as the one I have found at IKEA), brew your coffee at home, save yourself the time of stopping, unloading kids reloading kids and of course all the cash you drop on donuts and junk but, rather bring the donuts in a handy IKEA Food container and you can transport, hot or cold, pretty amazing right?
Hot beverages, cold beverages, water bottles, are you getting the idea that we love to drink and transport our drinks with us? I love reusable drink containers, and I enjoy both hot and cold beverages while I am driving. I do drive a lot with ice hockey and the boys, so being prepared before we get in the car is the hardest part of travel. I hate stopping when I am making great time on the road, so if I have water, and coffee with us, it is one less stop and 5 more minutes in my schedule! Here are 2 other containers that I have been using the BEHALLARE and the HALSA vacuum flask thermos.

HALSA(LEFT)
The water bottle looks like those trending bottles at the high end retailers where water is so lavish looking because of the packaging and the price that accompanies it is too! I have news for you, the bottle at IKEA is going to save you money and save our landfills from those pricey plastic bottles in the retailers for a once and done drink. As for the HALSA vacuum flask thermos, if you like things hot, grab this! It will keep those beverages warm. Do not fill it with carbonated beverages and do not drink right from the flask, pour it into the cup. Pre-heat this flask before you use it in order to keep the contents warm.
Here’s a Quick Run Down again of the pieces I found at 20% off for being an IKEA FAMILY Member Card Holder, where membership is free! All 20% off with your IKEA FAMILY card until September 29th.
