Traveling really makes me hungry, perhaps it is the activity, or maybe all the driving, but I am all about the specialty foods, the cute little eateries and of course TASTE.  As we road-tripped from the Outerbanks to Virginia Beach, it took a few hours with traffic, and it was time to eat.

My day was all about experiencing a new state, a new beach and a whole new family vacation destination to uncover.   Our food adventure today was perfect for my son who has severe food allergies.  Today’s destination would let him TASTE Virginia Beach.

Artisan crafted handhelds to local treats, all are part of the TASTE, Virginia Beach experience.  TASTE is a culinary destination and experience in Virginia Beach, and I am sure you will crave the TASTE long after you return home.   Are you ready to TASTE Virginia Beach and lavishly live food and travel out loud?

TASTE The Difference

The crafty paper bags, the farmhouse style area and the artisan-crafted food all offer a signature experience. Honestly, you could drive right on past this awesome stop, especially if you are intimidated by busy parking lots, but don’t miss this treat!

Of course dining in a place like this makes the experience more unique and refined and offers the trending fresh-crafted, homemade while you wait for your meal, so is that you?

What if there was a Market where you could shop as an extension of the experience as well as indoor and outdoor dining with a price tag that is no more expensive than those basic Panera stores that are around? Wait till you see what I have uncovered in Virginia Beach, it’s all about the TASTE.

I believe what makes TASTE so unique is that if uses the resources that it has around it, such as ingredients from the Chesapeake Bay Foodshed, Virginia Country Ham that is cured right in Virginia, cage-free small family farm, and natural chicken.  An additional few things to note about TASTE is that their baked ham and roast beef are free of nitrates and artificial growth stimulants, gluten free and trans-fat free.  Of course if you have food allergies to gluten, you can still eat here, as well as having nut, fish and latex allergies!

A Menu Over-View of TASTE

The impressive thing about TASTE is that if you want to create your own you can, or if you want their Signature Sandwiches you can sub out what things you don’t want on it.  HELLO does not let you sub or rearrange their Signature-type items(boo!).

There is a Classic Sandwich portion of the menu where you can create your own Whole or Half with prime choices of meats, cheeses, bread, and dressings.  French, Multi-grain, Whole Wheat Wrap, Brioche Roll, Butter Croissant, Italian Flatbread, Rustic Baguette, Gluten-Free Whole Grain Bread!

Any sandwich can be made into a Boxed Lunch for an additional cost, but it offers you pretty much something like a meal combo option!

Our Personal ‘TASTE’-Testing

My daughter is all about her smoked turkey and when it is done right, I never hear a peep, so this was done RIGHT! The NORTHENDER is the item you are looking for on the menu, as it offers all natural honey-smoked turkey, hardwood smoked bacon, Havarti, avocado, romaine, tomato, basil mayo served up on French Bread! UMMMM.

I nibbled on a delicious Croatan Greek Salad which comes in a few different ways, as both a salad or a wrap, and you can always add meat! This was a Greek salad, roasted tomatoes, artichoke hearts, feta, Kalamata olives, banana peppers, red onions and an Arugula Spinach mix, served up a in a wrap! YUM.

A CLASSIC SANDWICH

My one son, who eats lots, but is truly finicky, created his own Classic Sandwich with Bacon, smoked turkey, cheese and bread and you can see it looks delicious and so very homemade!

ALLERGEN FREE DINING

As you know my youngest has severe food allergies and there were a lot of options on the menu, he simply chose the TASTE Chopped Salad, and kept it very simple, with Balsamic Vinaigrette, and Romaine.

When in the Virginia Beach area, be sure to stop on by TASTE and indulge in one of the specially crafted menu items.  Are you ready to TASTE Virginia Beach? Taste sounds like the place to eat! I love a place that lets you pick out stuff you don’t want out lol I’m not a big fan of raw tomatoes. I always ask it to be removed even though I could probably do it myself lol

The food at TASTE looks so fresh and delicious! That is awesome that there were a lot of options for your son with food allergies. I know that some menus can be limiting so that is wonderful that it was not the case here
