What makes a comfortable, summer shoe? Is it the color? The stitching on the show that coordinates the seams? Is it the sole of the shoe? Is it where they come from? I do believe that this is all part of what makes a good summer shoe great! While I hate the heat of summer, I absolutely love the lightness of the shoes that I can wear from both the weight of the fabric to the colors they can have on them. Summer is fun, it is all about the weather, parties, families and good times. There is always fun to be had in the summer because something becomes so inviting about the outdoors that you can’t help but enjoy! I use my summer fun shoes when I am dressing up and dressing casual and I also use them when I am doing some of my special media work, I love how the authenticity of a product can make you feel great when you are wearing it!
What makes a shoe a quality shoe? It is what actually goes into the shoe making process itself. There are shoes mass produced on machines, but there is no way, that a mass produced shoe can compare to the authentic shoes, stitched by hand from a village in Spain. Time, skilled craftsmanship, passed down tradition, care and pride in manufacturing is what sets The Espadrille Store apart from other espadrille manufacturers. Shoes are not mass produced, rather each she is crafted by hand. You will know this as a quality product as soon as you see the shoes!
A LITTLE BACKGROUND..
I was so honored to try out Espadrilles from the Espadrille Store. Espadrilles have traditionally been sewn by hand, and they were created of hemp fiber or jute. Jute rope soles are what are created by one craftsman in Spain , piece by piece, all by hand. This is an art-form, a special craftsmanship. The sole of the shoes for the Espadrille Store is created by hand, they are not mass manufactured they are produced one by one according to the size requested. This is tedious, precious work done in the region of La Rioja. A pair of espadrilles sewn takes about 25 minutes per pair. The tip of the toe is the absolute most crucial element and it is very difficult to do, but each ‘abuela'(grandma) that sews the shoe has been taught, handed a tradition from her mother. This means your shoe is a part of a tradition, not a factory, someone actually had your shoe in their hand and stitched it!
Each shoe tip is skillfully crafted, and offers a protective ‘tip’ of stitching. It adds to the design of the wedges offers a canvas material and a wonderful stitched design on the toe closure. Take a look below:
I have fallen in love with my Red Rosa Espadrille. It matches with all my crop pants, jeans, shorts and the material is super comfortable. The peep toes are perfect for those days I did not get a pedicure! The stitching on the shoe is what makes it beautiful. I love this height as well, not too tall, not too short, just perfect! The rubber soles make the shoe very durable.
