When I first got my phone I really was not into the selfie thing I could not understand why people would take pictures of themselves. That was years ago, and this is NOW….the growth of social media makes me want to communicate with others and say hi to all of my friends while sharing what I’m doing and the SELFIE does just that. The core problems with selfies in my opinion is the fact that my arms are never long enough to get the background that I want or the depth in the photo, so of course I sought out an answer. However, it’s not just about the selfie it’s also about the ‘USSIE'(more than one in a photo) and the family photo when you want to capture that moment. With everyone crunched into the photo, heads, ears, faces, lips, and noses often get cut off because you can not get it all in with an arm extended. This is my story of Adventure. Eat. DIY. Repeat. with the selfie stick.
I tried out a Selfie Stick and My daughter tried out a different one, here are our two tales of how we fared with each stick.
The Selfie Stick
The trials and tribulations of taking photos while on vacation become even more grand, with our changing world. No one wants to hand their phone over to a stranger to get a photo taken by someone else, because it seems that smart phones are items that are grabbed and then stolen. A stolen phone does no one any good.
How do you capture those selfies, those ‘ussies’, those family photos without handing your phone over to someone else? That is what I have lavishly been investigating and the answer I found is known as the Selfie Stick.
Make no mistakes, these sticks are not all made equal and if you pay $5 for a stick, chances are you will be paying much more than that to replace your phone when it drops from that inexpensive contraption that should have been left on the manufacturers table.
I LOVE Instagram, it is almost a sickness how much I am on there, and admittedly so, the SELFIE comes along with it. Many days, I can’t get the right ‘photo’ or one that I like, so, I just shy away. Now that I have the SELFIE STICK(from SelfieStick.Com) I have no excuses. The overview of the selfie sick is quite simple. The Selfie Stick is in extending pole that you can bring as far in front of you as you want or is close to you as you want.
The area that holds the smart phone, is a clip, and you can adjust this up , or down, a tilt-like. Tilting gives a photo much more depth and definition and it takes the photo NON-HEAD ON, for much more flattering selfies, after all, you deserve the best photos right? Grab as much background as you want, photo landscape or portrait, and add in an angle with the head of the stick.
This Selfie Stick does not mess around with wires all you have to do is sync up your Bluetooth by turning the function on your phone ON to Bluetooth and of course turning the switch on the Selfie Stick on, and you are then ready to snap away. Next put your phone into the holder, and select the camera function, extend the Selfie Stick, and touch the button on the selfie stick while you were in photo mode and you will have a great selfie instantly.
SELFIE ON A STICK – A Different Selfie Stick vendor offered my daughter a selfie stick and here is what she had to say about hers!
Why We Like Selfie Sticks
My girlfriend grabbed my stick the other day and she was like, “ok where is your timer” and I said, “you don’t need a timer with this stick, it is Bluetooth!” That was the end of that lavish conversation, see I got the good stick, she bought garbage at some $5 store. I have already mentioned that Selfie Stick is wireless but did I mention that it is so easy to charge it comes with a charging cable? Just plug the Selfie Stick into the USB and in about one hour to go from not charged to charged. The standby time on this is 100 hours. The little blue light on the bottom of the stick let you know you are ready to go if it in fact is read you need to charge. Pairing the Bluetooth on this is a complete no-brainer you simply turn your phone on to Bluetooth and you turn the Selfie Stick on with the switch of a button and they sync up, there is no inserting numbers or crazy codes, it just happens! Technology so easy to use you have to have it!
