Tips For Graduation Party Food Options
MAKE AHEAD
When it comes to food that you will serve at your graduation party you want the food to be easily prepared ahead so that on the day of the party it is just about serving it up, ready to go! I love foods that can be made in bulk and trayed up ahead. What kinds of food can you make?
Meatless Options
One of my go-to recipes are my shrimp Caprese sandwiches. These can be made on small buns or large and because they serve as a meatless option for those who don’t like meat, they are perfect for plating up with sides of salads and chips making a complete plate. Shrimp Caprese are no-cook, and so fast to put together, but the end result is a beautifully to look at, artisan crafted sandwich, with lovely color.
As you all know I am always searching for the best of the best and today’s ham was provided by a marketing firm on behalf of Applewood Farms, opinions, and story are my own, based on my personal experience with products.
OLD FASHIONED HAM
Have you considered an old-fashioned ham for a party? You absolutely should. In fact, Old Fashioned Ham can be made ahead. What I love best about the old fashioned ham we just prepared was that it was delivered to my door, farm fresh and I put it in the oven to bake and went on with our other party preparations as it ‘warmed’. Where do you find this old fashioned ham so you can enjoy it too? Applewood Farms .
I took the delivered ham out of the iced down packaging, opened the foil packet, opened the plastic packaging, placed it in my turkey roasting pan because it was 20 pounds big and then I added water to the bottom of the pan. The ham came with a glaze mixture which I added in after an HOUR of warming.
While this ham cooked, I ran around and did many other tasks that needed to be completed and a few hours later, removed it from the oven and sliced it all up, traying it so it would be ready to heat and serve!
The amazing old fashioned ham (so I am told) is the best ham that I have ever prepared and served. From the quality of the meat to the texture and taste, my guests were enjoying this voluminous, large capacity ham. A bone was the perfect bonus, and after cooking, and slicing, we put it in a freezer bag and popped it into the freezer and plan on using it for Split Pea Soup.
Salads
Asian Chopped Salads are another one of my favorite party recipes. Their texture is perfectly resistant to wilting and it offers a nice crunch.
