Choke, Cough, Gag, that is me telling you something really personal about myself, and something that I would rather die than admit to… root touch-up. If someone would have told me I was going to have these little grey hairs that popped out of nowhere and could literally ruin my day because even if you can’t see them I can, I would have bought the world supply of baseballs caps to cover! Seriously, I personally can not stand when I see a silver little streak, creeping back onto my hairline, I freak and run for the ball cap, because I am that vane. In most ways I am not a person that cares about the little things, but I will tell you from the bottom of my heart, the grey thing does not work in my world! My story today will allow you to lavishly live your haircolor out loud and extend your coloring until you can cram it into your schedule! This is my story of lavishly living beauty out loud with tips to effortlessly touch-up roots in seconds so you never have to wear a ball cap again, unless you CHOOSE to!
Just so we are all clear, grey happens to everyone. I know someone who has been covering GREY since her late teens and I know others who did not have to start until they were forty plus. It is all up to your genes and trust me, when it happens you will feel a slight piece of your youth slip away, but fight back hard and let nothing get in your way of coverage! Grey is nothing I choose to celebrate or allow to take time out of my life for.
Tip #1 ~ A Teethed Hairband
You may not realize it, but if you are pressing your hair against your head, or holding your hair back with one hand while attempting coverage of the facial area with another you are a) blocking your light and b)not getting the best coverage you can out of your attempts. Using a teethed hairband will hold that hair off the facial lined area and allow you to keep all the lighting even, so you get it just right, every time!
Tip #2 ~ Clippies for the part line
The part of your hair is the most critical part to get right, if you are spraying your hair, root touching, or putting powder on, you WANT even coverage. Use a clip to separate each side, twist the hair into small clips to hold the hair taut and then fill in the roots, lol! (sounds like a dot-to-dot)
Now for the product that is the game-changer. Trust me, forget every product you have tried, because I have tried the same, they are all JUNK and need to hit the root touch-up graveyard and stay there! Drum roll please…………
AGEbeautiful Root Touch-Up Temporary Haircolor Spray
Zotos International Inc. a world-wide provider of hair care beauty products has announced the debut of an amazing new product from the AGEbeautiful collection, which is sure to revolutionize how you temporarily care for your grey root coverage in between colors. What AGEbeautiful is not, is a permanent solution to hair coloring, but what it is quite simply is a haircolor life extender! Let’s look at the features of AGEbeautiful first then I will explain how to use it(shhh, it’s really easy!)
- Sweat Resistant
- Water Resistant
- Stain Resistant
What this translates to is quite simple: when you sweat, it is not going to melt down your face, it is going to stay put, because this temporary root touch-up clings to the hair fibers and not your skin, so there is nothing to sweat from! Water resistance is great and I should know as I swim everyday. I get splashed, come out with wet hair, and I can tell you from personal experience it just does not wash away. My swim time is about 45 minutes, and while not all of it is underwater, the portion of my hair that is water exposed does not affect my touched up roots. When I shampoo it out at night, I then need to dry and style my hair and then reapply because shampooing does take it out of my hair.
Dry Powder Spray
Apply this to dry and styled hair, along the hairline along face, your hairline, and to the part line on the top of your head for even coverage. As a note, and from what I have personally experienced, “a little will go a long way” and this does not cling to your face when you are going against the hairline on your facial frame, it clings right to the hair. I mention this because if you have ever tried to touch-up the roots along your face, you know what a nightmare it can be, but it won’t be with the AGEbeautiful Root Touch-Up.
I use a Hairband to pull my hair roots up forward so I make sure I am covering what needs covered, no more and no less. Additionally, I spray from about 4″ away and I use very light, and very even strokes, it is really easy. I guess it takes me about 30 seconds to get my gray covered and then out the door I go!
TIPS 3, 4, & 5
- Have finer areas of hair? Spray the AGEbeautiful on those areas as well, and you will create a fuller and thicker look in that thinning area
- Chose a shade lighter than you might have normally used, and you can darken it by adding additional passes with the dry spray of choice.
- Need a more refined color, mix them, I did and you will find 8 different shades to choose from!
