Chug, gulp, sip, chunk?
Nope.
Smoothies are meant to be… well, smooth.
So, you gotta blend these ingredient combinations to get ‘smoothies’.
One of my all-time favorite smoothie recipes is my vitamin and a nutrient-packed almond-blueberry smoothie.
I don’t do chunks, in fact, I hate them.
Done in my blender, this just sings the praises of healthiness in a cup.
When do I make this?
Well, I use this one to power through housework as a pre-workout beverage.
Something about these smoothies seems to power me up (like a Power Ranger).
Now, let’s get you powered up and loaded with vitamins and nutrients too, with tiny effort and BIG bold taste!
Almond Blueberry Smoothie
You are expecting me to chat up blueberries right?
Why would I?
Everyone already knows that they have the highest level of antioxidants of any and every other fruit out there.
Then there’s the fact that they are low in calories.
BUt they are also low in fat.
However, they pack a walloping Vitamin C.
Oh, and they taste good and balance out anything that is bitter or strong.
They are the mellow-makers as I like to call them.
Blueberries bring balance to smoothies.
Almonds But Not How You Think
Well, you need a liquid and I did not use milk or water.
So guess what I used?
If you guess almond milk, well you are darn RIGHT!
Don’t use one with sugar in it, or flavor, just basic, lowest-calorie possible almond milk.
Last But Not Least — I’ve Got Your Greens.
I’m not gonna tell you what green I used, but if you go to the recipe I will!
You’ve got to make sure that you do liquids, then soft items, then firmer items (frozen fruits and ice last)
Getting sufficiently smooth results takes a little more effort with a regular blender, but it can be done.
Again, you’ll want to start by adding your liquids first.
Always make sure to chop veggies and fruit as small as possible before adding them.
Fresh fruits are usually softer and can be left in larger chunks.
Smoothies To Make You Smile
You’ll need a good blender, but if you don’t want a huge one, try one of the following, all have great reviews on Amazon!
Pink, rechargeable, and Under $20 with almost 3600 4 star reviews?
Ok, so my fave is this hamilton beach personal blender you can tote in your handbag!
The ratings on this one are off the charts!
