Living in a city, suburb, or town that snow falls in, necessitates the need for those little things you might once have just fanned off as unneccesary. What do you do with wet boots?
The season of wet, messy and boots is upon us and it is a mess of gift! It would seem that no matter how many ways you try to keep the floors clean from wet boots and shoes it can often be defeatist. If you place a carpet down, the carpet sops up the moisture but it can potentially stain the floor or smell and the funk of wet carpet is just nasty! Lavishly living out loud leaves me shopping for a boot tray that can take a beating, keep my floors clean and not create an eye sore! Have you considered a boot tray? I love them let’s take a look at how to get rid of those wet floors from boots, and shoes during the lovely winter weather and wet season and lavishly live water and messes out loud with a tray that lets your home decor scream fashion!
The Boot Tray Purpose
Boot trays are great and ready for whatever Old Man Winter or Spring is throwing at them from water to snow. Get rid of those towels on the floor, as a boot tray is meant to take care of the wet when traipsing into mudrooms, laundry rooms, garages, back doors, front doors, and so on. My motto: Stop and Drop Those Shoes!
A Well Placed Boot Tray
What happens when you stack boots on an ugly old towel? First the dirt transitions everywhere, and soon, the kids are sliding across the floor on the towel making more of a mess, so this is not the best solution. A boot tray that lets you stack those boots up neatly, forces you out of the boots and lets your floors stay clean. You know I am obsessed with cleaning, floor and not getting dirt across them, after all the kids play on the floor, tackle, wrestle and germs are carried on shoes as well as messes, that don’t need to be in my home. My solution was easy, a boot tray, but finding the right one is all a matter of personal taste.

Boot Trays with Drip Grids
Some trays have drip grids and this is great to separate a boot or shoe from the mess that it will be leaving behind, especially if the tray is going to be ‘flooded’. Take a look at this particular tray, the mesh grate takes care of the separation while lending to a pleasant decor.
Why A Boot Tray?
If you have ever had boots and shoes that you wanted to bring in so they could dry off or stay warm for future entry into you have now created a reason to have a boot tray. Do you have kids in the house who get dressed and undressed in your mudroom they need a place to put their boot rather than on the floor heating vents, which only leads to puddles? Trays make it more eye pleasing, than a towel that gets muddied and dirty from all the debris or wet and muddy floor vents! Keep those floors puddle and debris free and keep your boots together and organized by placing them in this tray. Any packages that get tossed to your front door during this great season can also be stowed in this tray as they are often wet and pose quite the challenge for drying, short of throwing into the garage! This is a practical tray that will keep the water off your floors!
How Hard Is The Boot Tray To Care For?
It’s not? If you own a paper towel, rag and a garbage can, you got this! To clean your boot tray, simply dump out any water, spray off or wipe down the interior at the sink or with a hose and the dry the interior. This will keep you boot tray looking good all year long.
The best floor is a clean floor and you can keep those floor clean year round and keep your shoes organized with great boot trays. This can easily hold 5 pairs of boots and shoes, you can see mine loaded on there and I could have placed a few more on! Happiness is not cleaning the floors everyday of the week!
