Lazy Girl's 3-Ingredient Homemade Applesauce

When you have a drawer of apples that have been there a while, what do you do with them? 
Surely you don't toss them out? 
What do you do with them?
Don't eat squashy apples. 
Rather let's use them up. 
This is the King of Lazy Girl recipes and it will turn you on to applesauce even if you never liked it or made it before. 
Yes, it's a novice level recipe. 
No special culinary skills are needed. 
Did I mention you also don't need fancy kitchen essentials to create this 3-ingredient applesauce? 
Nope. 

What You Do Need 

In order to harness the power of the Lazy Girl's applesauce, you will need simple kitchen tools that YOU already own. 
Grab a peeler, a bowl, and a pot. 
Don't forget a knife and an optional cutting board. 
Additionally, you can use a colander if you are composting the skins and cores so that you can easily transfer them into your compost bucket.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 Apples As many apples as you like, peeled, cored, chunked.
  • Cinnamon Stick *optional
  • Cinnamon
  • 1/2 C water.

Instructions
 

  • Take all of your prepared apples and place them in a pot (that has a lid)
  • Put your water into the pot.
  • Stir.
  • Top off with cinnamon (covering the apples that are on top).
  • *optional - Add in the cinnamon stick and bury it in the middle.
  • Mix.
  • Cover.
  • Cook on Medium Heat for one hour.
  • At the end of one hour, remove from heat, set aside.
  • When you are ready, take a potato masher, and puree, or when cooled, placed in blender and whip to smooth consistency or preferred consistency.
