Place your mixing bowl in front of you and set up your hand mixer
In your mixing bowl, add the butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and flour
Add in the brown sugar and cinnamon *read blog post for how much cinnamon and why
Mix lightly with the hand mixer, then stop when it begins to resemble crumbles.
Then scrape down the sides and finish mixing the crumbles of churro topping using your spatula to mix and cut the mixture.
You'll not want to mix with the hand mixer as you need crumbs, not a paste
Divide The Churro Swirl Mixture (only if you are using this mixture for both a topping and a swirl (otherwise skip to Step 4)
If you are using this topping for both as a topping and a swirling mixture in 1 recipe, you'll want to divide the mixture in half and set the second bowl aside(if not skip the next step and this one)
In 1 bowl, you will now add additional sugar and cinnamon to power up the crumbles of the churro topping mixture, and then set that aside
If you did not divide your mixture in half you will be adding additional granulated sugar and cinnamon at this step. This addition will add in more flavor, and of course, if you want you could skip this step altogether
Finish The Mexican-Inspired Baking Crumb
You are now done mixing and combining and these are ready to be mixed into or placed atop any item you are baking where you want a great flavor and crunch at the same time
