Tuscan Herb Bread Recipe For Bread Machine

dana vento
My son with severe food allergies is obsessed with dunking bread into olive oil.
While I love bread, I also know that carbs need to be a tad more limited in our Italian household.
The olive oil dipping is so much fun, but just adds more calories than I want him to have.
Instead, I created a fabulous bread that builds the olive oil and the herbs he dunks in, right inside of the bread.
Having an awesome bread maker lets me get very creative and keep the foods allergen-friendly (for our home).
Additionally, a bread maker in the house ensures us that we will have fresh bread in an hour.
The Tuscany herb bread recipe took a few tries and a little tweaking until I finally got it right.
Magic happens with the influx of the herb ingredients.  Bread with herbs in it is all about how strong or light you like your bread.
Season to taste and you make my recipe your own. Bookmark the easy to make in your bread machine Tuscany Herb Bread.
It's not hard to make this bread, in fact, I have kept it as bare-bones as possible.
Yet, I have managed to make sure that the taste is outstanding.
Have you learned about bread machines?
Choose a reliable bread maker. One that you will use for basic loaves of bread and maybe dough?
When choosing a bread-making appliance, I suggest shopping around a bit.
What you don't want are too many bells and whistles.
Bread machines that offer sweet dough, one and 2-pound loaves, dough mode, and basic will cover you.
Too many options can lead to confusion when preparing bread. Simple is best.

Things You Will Want To Have In Your Pantry Stock & Know

I prefer the jarred yeast that is specifically for breadmaking.
Maybe it is because I have never had good luck with yeast packets?
Bread flour is as important as the yeast.
When I make this bread we have King Arthur's Bread Flour in the house.
In my particular bread machine, wet ingredients must be in first.
Check your maker to learn what must be added first.
I never let salt touch the yeast.
Measuring cups are a necessity when making bread.
Over or under-measuring ingredients can cause epic fails (based on experience, ugh!)
Try easy recipes before moving on through recipes that have more ingredients and more steps to follow.
Perfection comes in small batches, go small then go big!
Herbs can be anything from basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary, garlic, onion, sage, etc.
Define them as you choose, not by my recipe alone.
Dried spices do have a shelf-life so pay attention as results with older herb products don't yield the same taste.
Add in fresh herbs and spices anytime you wish.
The flavor will be stronger, so you may want to tweak it down to a bit less.
Last, if you can, purchase an extra paddle and liner for your bread maker, just so you have it, trust me on this!

Bread Machine Cycle: Choose Basic and Medium Color
Once the bread is done with the baking cycle, remove and allow to cool on a rack.
Remember to remove the dough hook.

Notes

Tips: Allow bread to cool on its side on a wooden cutting board or with a baking tray and a dry paper towel below to collect condensation.
