Materials

  • Colorful Baby Chicks See my Link Above
  • 2 Potted Rose Ball Topiary in White Links to purchase are in post
  • 1 Bag Small Speckled Foam Eggs
  • Glue Sticks
  • Glue Gun

Instructions

  • Begin by unpacking all the eggs and chicks.
  • This makes everything easier to work with.
  • Allow your Glue Gun to come to temperature.
  • Set glue sticks aside glue gun.
  • First, use your glue gun to secure eggs flush with the terracotta base of the topiary.
  • One by one, cover the entire upper rim, leaving about 1/2" of space between each.
  • Alternate colors for a more flowing pattern (Optional).
  • Next, try out a color scheme, testing out where to place all the chicks at the TOP of the topiary.
  • Do you want a color scheme or just pops of color?
  • I tried to alternate the colors as best as I could and to not allow any of the colors to be side by side.
  • Begin glueing from the top.
  • Glue the chicks feet, then hold against the petal briefly until set.
  • Make sure to clear off any strings of hot glue and then repeat, until you work your way around the entire topiary top.
  • Next, start where the topiary is fastened. Glue one chick at the base.
  • Continue this pattern, however, turn the base just a bit, so the next one is stacked diagonally.
  • Repeat this until you have chicks all the way up the base.
