Baked Apple Dumplings With Brown Sugar Butter Sauce

  • Ingredients
  • 4 Peeled & Cored Granny Smith Apples
  • 4 Tsp Butter
  • 4 Tsp Brown Sugar
  • Cinnamon in a sprinkling apparatus
  • 1 Package Refrigerated Pie Dough both packs

For The Dumpling Sauce

  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • Splenda 2 Cups
  • 1 1/2 Cups Water
  • Dash of nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • METHOD
  • Take one package of pie crust, cut it in 1/2 you will put your cored, peeled apple in the middle of this.
  • Fill the middle of the cored apple with 1 tsp butter and 1 tsp brown sugar.
  • Shake Cinnamon all over the apple as little or as much as you would like
  • Wrap the apple up entirely with the pie crust and put it in baking pan. (make sure to have sprayed pan with nonstick spray)
  • Repeat the process until each apple is prepared.

Dumpling Brown Sugar Butter Sauce

  • Believe it or not the sauce is made from white sugar, vanilla,nutmeg and water, and no brown sugar. The Brown sugar is from inside the apple!
  • On the stove, in a small quart pan, mix vanilla, sugar, water, nutmeg and bring to a fast boil. Remove from heat immediately
  • Cover each apple with about 1/2 C (ladle) of this Brown Sugar Butter Sauce. Place in oven to bake for 35-40 minutes until tops are golden brown.
