It’s All About Change And What Your Eyes See
When I looked at my room I noticed I had a red blanket on top of my bed in the season of red is pretty far gone at this point at least in my mind. It look like it needed a bit of refreshing, I did a fluffing or maybe a lot less fluff because the seasons were changing.
I decided that I wanted to play up the color make things a little more vibrant than they have been and while read is quite bold I decided to go the opposite direction working with beige, teals, pinks and yellows. I did not want too much of any color but a general spattering with some color would be a good break from a solid pattern.
Color is good
The first step in any change up obviously has to do with color. So I took a look around my room and I notated that the color was a bit blah and really needed updating. Really, I think I just just grown sick of staring at red all year long and change was beyond overdue. I knew that a good changeover from a true bedspread to a quilt with color would make it perfect.
Toss in a few pillows
Now I lay me down to hang out! That’s right, to hang out you need something to hang onto and the lack of pillows in my room was a big deal! Any great bed has to have a number of pillows. My bed just had two pillows for sleeping and I decided that that had to be changed. I decided to probably two square pillows and one neck-roll pillow would be appropriate and that is how I tossed in a few pillows.
Let things be reversible
While you can’t change time or things that happen, what if you had something in your life that could be reversible? I am talking about a bed cover, or a quilt. Anytime you change something up there’s a cost involved and I figure if I’m going to get the best possible product for my room I might as well just well.
The investment that I chose included a reversible quilt. Having something that you can put on one side one week and then flip the other keeps your eye from being bored and your mind from wandering in roving to do that same thing over and over called redecorating
What Did I Use For My Fast Bedroom Change?
My attention with snagged by a company called Madcap Cottage. Their offerings in blankets roll pillows, square pillows sheets, quilt and shams very much had my attention as the colors were lively. I decided to toss my color caution to the wind and splurge on creative colors, uncommon designs, patterns, and textures that I have not introduced into my room before.
Formerly I had a common cotton blanket and I traded it in for a herringbone blanket with these lovely stripes offering the possibility of both masculine and feminine for styling. The coloring is a nice and lively teal which actually accents so well against cherry wood and brass it is just quite impressive.
What I actually have enjoyed about this set is that the quilt is reversible so that one week I might have a checkered pattern with stars flowing through it and yet the next week I can turn it over and have a floral valley right on my bed.
This is the perfect way to invest whenever you are looking for tips to Easily change up the decor in a room because buying one piece allows you several options.

INSPIRATIONS
Star Quilt – Jason and John collect vintage textiles. Both of their grandmothers also made quilts, so they grew up with things like the Star Patchwork on their beds The design of the Madcap Star Patchwork quilt — available exclusively on hsn — is a combination of textiles the duo have collected and quilts made by their grandmothers.
The star design is based on a classic early American quilt design that they modified in their typical Madcap way by bringing in multiple colors and multiple patterns.
All were hand-painted by John and then turned into fabric by HSN. The number of quilts produced by HSN is limited, so that combined with the original art makes this a true heirloom even if granny didn’t make it.
Sheets
Jason and John are big fans of embroidered details on fabrics. The like the use of embroidery on sheets because it adds subtle pattern that works with whatever might have on your bed. The vine/leaf pattern we chose for this sheet collection was inspired by an Antique Engraving they bought on Portobello Road in London.
The colors of the sheets relate back to the colors in the quilt. They like buying two sets in contrasting colors and mixing them together on the bed.
