Traveling is a continuation of education. Travel teaches culture, history and defines who we are. With every adventure I take, planning happens long before the journey.
To get the most out of every destination, you need a list.
List for travel are great because they help you formulate a plan of approach to large countries. If you can lasso your interests you can conquer your destination piece by piece.I have been working on 4reasons Spain is on my destination list for a little while now. Not only will the list win my husband over, it will be manageable.
Today, let me share my 4 reasons Spain is on my destination list, to help spur you on as well. Getting out of the country is incredible and Spain is a masterpiece of travel! Lavishly live travel out loud. Grab your map, and your passport and let’s travel!
4 Reasons Spain Is On My Destination List
To set things in motion, I must tell you there are considerations you must invest in before you plan. If you ‘Know thyself’ this will be easily achieved. For instance, once you know you want to go to Spain, you must consider how you plan to divide and conquer your destination list.
After all, tours and holidays in Spain are a once in a lifetime kind of thing. Perhaps working with a tour is a consideration to really get your checklist marked off?
However, you could attempt to knock things off your destination list on your own. Truly, you have to decide if you are better doing tours and holidays in Spain on your own or with a bit of help. Are you adventuresome? Do you like having a go at a place and seeing if you can conquer it? Perhaps you have no preference you just want to ‘get er’ done?
Crushing My Fear Of Heights
Spain has a few options that will allow me to really tackle my fear of heights and truly see the gorgeous and spanning views of its cities.
1. Rock Of Gibraltar
Climbing the Rock Of Gibraltar is one task I must conquer. The views are said to be breathtaking. The walk will start for us at the Mediterranean Steps and over to the southern end of the Nature Reserve which begins the ascent.
Reaching the highest point of the Rock Of Gibraltar will be the pinnacle of my day. That point is O’Hara’s Battery. O’Hara’s Battery is at 1938 Ft Above sea level and perfectly high enough for me!
2. Caminito Del Rey
The Caminito Del Rey will challenge my skills, senses and my fear of heights. Have you seen the hike? It is not your typical hike yet the reward is awesome!
I can hardly imagine all that I will see from complex walking zones to heights many would not dare. For the few, the brave, that actually do attempt and succeed, the sites are a traveler’s delight. From amphibians to insects, to bats, birds to Peregrine Falcons, it is nature at its best!
3. ‘The Sugar Cubes Of Casares’
Postcard Picturesque
I read this great article on the Sugar Cubes of Casares and now I am piqued with curiosity. From behind the camera I want to be as stunned by beauty as in front of my own eyes.
I have heard that Casares, is the place to visit, capture on a photo and be floored with incredibly picturesque homes. A mountain of white with one home overriding the shadows of another.
My quest is to park, walk, visit and uncover all the small details that make this the most photo-worthy stop.
4. Mallorca
I once saw this photograph and have forever cherished it. I understand it is in Pollensa.
Pollensa is home to some of the finest beaches. This image was taken from the lovely waters off the coast of Mallorca at Cala Sant Vicenç. Why am I craving this destination?
Because it looks like Montagna Spacatta in Italy (Gaeta) that I once visited. A naturally split mountain and it was awesome so I am assuming this will be much the same!
Get Ready Spain, I Am Coming For You
Every destination in Spain truly grabs my attention, but some are on the top of my To-Do list. By taking on Spain, piece by piece, I know that I will easily accomplish the top sites and those less known.
What I have found is when you break a country down to its smallest pieces. Tour it little by little, the experience of a destination is no longer overwhelming. Remember, break your destination trips into, minutes, hours, then days.
Leave no stone unturned, no store unshoppped and never leave your lodging without your camera. Trust me, the most rewarding trips are those planned, with little ‘unplanned’ extras tucked in each day.
Discovery of Spain is like uncovering Florida 4x over. That info is just in case you are a comparison person, I am! Plan, pack and head off to Spain. Make your own list ‘wanna do’ chart and perhaps you will have a similar 4 reasons Spain will be on your destination list! ~ Dana
