 Simple DIY’s with Car Accessories  

No. 1 ~~ Bling That Ring! 

The first thing I added was a little bling, well actually a Bling Ring! 

I mean, I wanted to make something sparkle, so I did! 

The starter button is what I changed. 

Basically, it’s this cool ring that goes around it, lines up perfectly and while it does not change how you start the car, it changes the look of AROUND the starter button. 

I cleaned the area, allowed it to dry. 

Peeled the sticky adhesive liner off the back of the BLING RING and attached. 

That’s it! 

No. 2 FOB COVER in CHROME

The FOB. 

Well, FOB’s are expensive to replace. 

We’ve had 2 other cars where the retail tag on replacement is totally insane. 

Knowing that it can be upwards of $250+ I decided to change up that FOB. 

While it’s not a lot of protection, it is light protection and the new FOB case clearly SHOWS when I am hunting it down. 

I went with CHROME Pink, and honestly, I love it. 

The only thing is that the braided part (that you hold on to is light pink, like Easter Pink) not the color they show on the image online. 

But, the bigger picture is that the FOB itself is protected and it works all the same. 

I should also tell you if you do this and you have a glovebox key, you will have to take the key FOB Off to access that glovebox key! 

Last, it does come in a few other colors in case anyone wants something besides pink. 

No. 3 ~ Specifically for the XT5 – Door Armrest Storage 

I didn’t understand why the XT5 has armrests on the door that are not made for storage. 

Whether it’s for a CC or a few coins, mints, etc. 

The interior is already ‘squashed’ (that’s a girl coming out of a Suburban), so where do I store little stuff I Need? 

No worries, I sought, found, and installed! 

These are perfect and look as though they were already a part of the Cadillac. 

Yes, I’d recommend them 100x and it’s great for the passenger side as well for phone storage! 

No tools were required, it was pretty much open the package and drop them in. 

By the way, you can take them out anytime you want too! 

No. 4 ~~ Storage For The Center Console 

So what do you do when there is very little storage and you have stuff you bring along all the time? 

In my case, it was where do I stash some tissues, and pens, and loose coin, as well as a small umbrella, etc. 

Well, it was not my favorite part of this car, so I had to change it. 

What I did was use the space beneath the center console to gain organization. 

I measured and trust me it took a few tries, but I shopped on Amazon and found an organizational piece. 

The item I chose actually is what many put inside their handbags to gain organization. 

It’s washable and has handles so I can take it all out when the car goes in for service. 

For those that have different color interiors, no worries, there are handbag organizers in almost every color imaginable. 

Also, it’s handy and I can access all the things I need by just going into one of the compartments for what I need! 

No. 5 ~~ Floor Mats that are NOT WeatherTech Brand 

After pricing out Weatherproof Mats and getting on the phone with their customer service over a different item I was purchasing, I walked away from the brand. 

Not impressed with a few different things that went on, and the pricing of their mats, I looked for an alternative. 

With sloppy weather, rain, snow, sleet, salt, and the horrible wintry mix we have in Pittsburgh, I needed reliable mats. 

Instead of the large tag that comes with their ‘brand’ name of WeatherTech, I sought a reliable set of mats that fit and work all the same! 

I am most happy with the purchase, as the mats fit where they should. 

They are easy to clean and have saved the carpeting in the car from getting salty and stained. 

Also, I found that they had a discount at the time I purchased them, so maybe this happens more frequently? 

Additionally, and a big deal is that if I did not like the mats they were returnable with free shipping! 

That’s NOT an option with Weathertech. 

No. 6 A Handbag Holder 

I’ve already shared this in a whole other post. 

However, it’s worth saying, if you have a car, and a handbag gets this simple handbag holder.

Really it will save your purse and all its contents from being lost and shuffled throughout the car.
