Remember, if you are prepared ahead of time, it keeps you on the road and on schedule. Pittsburgh, it is time to get those vehicles ready for what is coming, because there is no stopping it!
Owning a vehicle equals vehicle maintenance, so where do you start? Let’s keep things simple and target the items that should be part of your winterizing checklist. Lavishly live life on the road and winterize your vehicle to save on headaches.
Winterize Your Vehicle to Save On Headaches
This is a sponsored post on behalf of a PR Firm for a dealership. Thoughts are my own based on my experience as a driver and auto blogger.
These days, cars don’t require major maintenance in order to start up in cold weather. However, they still require a bit of care in order to keep them in good running order during the winter.
Make a list and check it twice. Here are a few things you can do to get your car ready for the wrath of Mother Nature. Honestly, it’s probably easier than you think!
OIL
Get an oil change. Older, dirty oil cause your vehicle to perform more sluggishly, especially in the frigid. Don’t change it yourself, head on over to your local car dealership, use their service center to get your oil changed. Grab the hours ahead of time, an appointment and avoid those little oil change shops, go with the pros!
BATTERY
Make sure your battery is in good shape. Schedule a battery load test, to make sure it’s still capable of holding a strong charge. Also, check the connections to your battery to make sure that they’re not dirty or corroded. Again, a simple visit to your local service center at the dealership works well.
WINDSHIELDS MATTER
Consider buying new wiper blades to better keep your windshield clear during harsh weather. Look for blades that are specifically designed for winter use.
EMERGENCY ROADSIDE SUPPLIES
Keep your car well stocked with emergency supplies. You may want to include a warm blanket as well as an auto cell phone charger, snacks, bottled water and a first-aid kit.
TIRE CARE
Check your tires to ensure they are properly inflated. If they aren’t, it could have a negative impact on the traction that your car gets on icy roads.
Winterizing your vehicle doesn’t have to be stressful. Simply keep this advice in mind and you’ll be on your way to a more efficiently-running car, even in the coldest of weather.
